I looked up Michael Choice and he's 24 yrs old, with no service time in the majors. He's from Mansfield and played collegiate ball at TX Arlington. He's 6' and 215, so he may have some power potential, and he would be under club control for the next 3 years.

Is this JD's answer to our LF woes? Puzzling.....

beat me to it.

He is arb eligible in 3 years, we can keep him until 2020.

So we lose the kittenface twitter account too?

The guy said there was no way in hell he was tweeting about the A's.

Jeff Passan@JeffPassan 1m Source: RHP Josh Lindblom going to the A's. Texas will get Class A 2B Chris Bostick.

How many second baseman can we play at the same time? This gives us 3, all with some potential, in the minors now. What are we doing? And does this mean maybe over the next 1 to 2 seasons we see EA or Profar move on?

Choice is a great young player. I am not pissed about the talent coming back. I am pissed about losing my biggest irrational man love on the team.

My love for Beltre is quite rational.

Ken Rosenthal@Ken_Rosenthal [ame=""]37s[/ame] #Rangers project Choice as everyday corner bat, possibly in ’14, depending upon what else they do. Team has been looking at FA hitters.

Not a major trade but sad to see kitten face go. He was good in his role and that was a 4th OF'er. This shouldn't be a huge loss going forward.

hahaha

Choice may have some great upside for us. But fleet-footed Gentry roaming around in that huge cavern out there is perfect for them.

The team which just won our division last season has gotten much stronger defensively for the next 2/3 years.

Ben Badler@BenBadler [ame=""]5m[/ame] Michael Choice is MLB-ready now. Plus power there, swing adjustments have cut down on his strikeouts and improved plate coverage.

That makes two 4th OF's we have lost this offseason, and one everyday OF/DH. I know there has to be another move coming, but I guess this puts Martin in CF and Rios in RF. Who is our LF and 4th now?

Signing Choo becomes all the more necessary.

We don't have a LF or 4th today. But make no mistake, the Rangers have stated over and over, Martin is our everyday CF.

I know some of ya can't stand Bowden, but he said, Martin in 2 years may be the best CF in baseball. Said this last season, late.

Not really saving a lot of money on this trade, are we? Not sure what to make of this.

I think it's Choo or Granderson
I think we may of just traded a 4th OF'er for a 4th OF'er

TEX didn't get very much for Gentry given that OAK will want him as its every day CFer.

Don't they have Crisp for that though?

Edit: Although it is possible they move Crisp since Gentry is the better defender

Texas got their 2nd and 8th best organizational players for Gentry and Lindblom.

I love the hell out of Gentry, but I didn't know he was that valuable to anyone but Texas.
