Different argument, your UTIL fielder should be at least a good defender

And I never claimed Choo was a good fielder, I'm also not advocating he be our UTIL guy

I didn't say that you said Choo was a good defender. I asked if you thought he was a good defender. I was just using him as an example to prove my point that a lot of good defenders have -dWars. PLus he's the one that came to my mind because he's the one that everyone wants. So your saying your utility IF should be a good defender, but your starting LF doesn't need to be?

Once again didn't say that,

Choo provides offense that overcomes his defensive deficiencies

It would be nice if he was both, but unfortunately for him he's not, he'd be a 7 WAR player if he was a good defender and worth a heck of a lot more

They've been desperate to fill that hole at 2B for a couple years now, since Roberts can't stay healthy

Weeks might be a change of scenery candidate

the change likely couldn't hurt

seems the O's could have gotten a little better return, possibly from another team but not our transaction i guess

I consider Choo a "good" defender with a -dWar, which has been my point the whole time. I also think Arias is a "good" defender, like I originally said. Even with his -dWar. He makes up for it a lot more than Rosales with the bat, without question. So yes I wouldn't mind having Arias as the utility IF.

I wish I didn't have to work in the morning. Later fellas.

Then your concept of good is pretty fouled up,

A-Rod is a "good" teammate and person then

A's got a good closer for a player that hasn't proved much

We would have called for Nathan's head if he had a 3-8 record with 9 blown saves. I know he had 50 saves and a decent ERA of 2.94 but I do not want a closer who gets it done 85% of the time.

Jim Johnson has blown some saves and hurt the Orioles, but why trade him for a shitty 2B? They better have gotten a good player TBA.

I'd like to see us see if Arencibia wants to come here from Toronto, doubtful though as a backup. I REALLY want us to go see what the Marlins Webb wants. They cut him loose, and I'd be on the phone with him offering the full $2M he was due from Miami in order to come here.

Funny...other than the hack away approach at the plate, I liked AJ game and thought he added something needed. It's nice to have a couple non-choir boys in a clubhouse. I don't think Kurt Suzuki brings anything a solid triple A catcher wouldn't bring to a team, and I don't think Salty wants to return to Arlington. Seems catcher could become an issue for this team unless something changes soon

Didn't Salty burn some bridges here? I thought I read/heard that.

He was a headcase and then didn't tell the team about an injury and Wash called him out in public over it.

His dad is infamously known for going on blogs like LSB and talking all kinds of trash in support of his son.

Kurt Suzuki is a great defensive catcher that can help handle a staff. AJP was lazy behind the plate in both receiving pitches and letting passed balls get by him. If both catchers cannot hit anyway, I would rather the dude who knows how to catch.
