A's sign Scott Kazmir for 2/22 MM. Wow...he's being overpaid.
Disagree with Klaw on this one. I'd rather take the guy who at least has shown the ability to hit some homers if they are both low average and low OBP hitters.
Ain't most of em?
I remember when Drysdale and Kofaux held out for a million a year, total, and the baseball world went nuts. Sandy alone would damn near make a million per win in today's game.
I've never thought athletes were overpaid in general. It's not my money anyway. I am speaking purely about his value. He's had one good year since 2008 and cashed in on it.

When was his good year? I can't see stats for Sugarland Skeeters
I'm just glad Oakland is paying him that money and not us
Last season.
Also that means fat ass will likely not be back. Wonder were that lardman will end up.
I knew what you were saying, but 'good' seemed like a bit of a reach.
Plus, how many times can you reference the Skeeters

Categorically, I would say that 158 innings with a K/9 of of 9.23 with a FIP of 3.51 and xFIP of of 3.36 is good. I would take that out of a 5th starter every year.[/]
I don't think he'll be healthy for 2 years, and I think $11MM is pretty expensive for a 5th starter. But, I guess the rest of Oak's rotation is inexpensive.
But, I don't know advanced metrics
In case you guys were wondering, we aren't the team talking to the blue jays about JPA.

I don't expect him to do that again. but I don't expect him to be bad either. I think he's going to be above average, because it's damn hard to crappy when you make half your starts in that joke of a ballpark.
2/22 makes him currently the highest paid player on their team.

That last line is both hilarious and depressing.
