Watching the stars game with my scout friend right now. The only information I got was that they should learn a lot more tomorrow about future moves

Appreciate all the info you and your friend our giving us, Terps. Is he going to the winter meetings? Keep us informed, especially concerning Price.

I can tell you that he is not going. Not really sure why, but he isn't.

In five years Amazon will have drones delivering our packages and the Angels will still owe Albert Pujols another $87 million.

I suppose, I'm not convinced some of these players needed anything to be great

:noidea:

You shouldn't be.

The perfect example is Barry Bonds. When he weighed in at 185 he was hitting 30 HRs and stealing 30 with an average of .300+. Hall of Fame stuff.

That's hilarious.

And how much we still owe A-Roid? Just asking.......

Seriously, doesn't our pay start in like 2017 and he gets about 40-50 mil depending upon the inflation numbers?

Honestly...not true. I was shocked to see how much money Mr. Hicks had back-loaded onto his contract.

If I'm remembering it correctly the Rangers agreed on $40 mil starting in 2017 or so. But with the inflation numbers added in, it's closer to $50.

Anyone know the parameters of this agreed?

it was all over the DFW news about 5-6 weeks ago or so. frankly, I didn't have a clue until reading it then.

i thought we were done paying him off. So, he could potentially be banned from baseball, and we'd still owe him 50 million? There's something unamerican about that

If Rodriguez is indeed banned for life, the Yankees will likely be freed from the roughly $100 million that he’s owed until his contract expires in 2017.
Texas, on the other hand, would still be on the hook, according to the Dallas Morning News.
The club still owes the three-time Most Valuable Player approximately $40 million in deferred money from the initial contract that A-Rod signed in 2000, according to the newspaper. That figure will eventually grow to almost $50 million.
The Rangers will pay the 38-year-old from 2016-2025, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Pretty shocking that we could potentially be paying a banned, cheater 50 million dollars to enjoy retirement. Can I have some of that? I didn't get banned, and I don't already have 300 mil at my disposal

THANK YOU.....I was beginning to wonder about me again. But I knew I saw this on DMN.

I appreciate you "paying" attention. As depressing as the correct news is.

So, it's about $5 mil per. Is this part of JD's budget he's speaking of?
