I still think Hart and Beltran are real possibilities.

Then I think we are looking at another power-outage, Fielder can't fill it on his own.

That brings me back to Beltran, 2-3 years...if you overspend, it's at least a short term deal

I'm just guessing Lainey. Choo makes a lot of sense, but I don't think JD will get into a bidding war for him. Something like 5/80 might be the limit, and I doubt that gets it done.

I suppose, I'm not convinced some of these players needed anything to be great

:noidea:

I would argue that Braun was good his rookie year and great every year after. I doubt he started using in his 2nd year. I assume it was before his contract came up.

5/80? Why would anyone pay more? Is he that good?

Both?
That's fantastic as far as I'm concerned, we'll probably have to over-pay, but both would be short term, and fits our window
(I agree with Justin that we should strike with this current pitching rotation)

It's the market, I don't think 5/80 is too much, but he's likely to get a lot more
Then we can look to over pay no matter who we sign.

typically in FA, yes...depends on the player, the players we want are likely to be an overpay, but I'd rather a short term overpay, than a 7-8 year one

Watching the stars game with my scout friend right now. The only information I got was that they should learn a lot more tomorrow about future moves

Damn Stars. Playoffs are looking more and more unlikely. They are so young though. It's going to turn around in the upcoming years.
