To go from good to great. And to get paid.
I suppose, I'm not convinced some of these players needed anything to be great

Then I think we are looking at another power-outage, Fielder can't fill it on his own.
That brings me back to Beltran, 2-3 years...if you overspend, it's at least a short term deal

I would argue that Braun was good his rookie year and great every year after. I doubt he started using in his 2nd year. I assume it was before his contract came up.
I still think Hart and Beltran are real possibilities.
5/80? Why would anyone pay more? Is he that good?I'm just guessing Lainey. Choo makes a lot of sense, but I don't think JD will get into a bidding war for him. Something like 5/80 might be the limit, and I doubt that gets it done.

I think you could get them both for cheaper than Choo would be. The problem with those 2 is Martin would be our opening day leadoff hitter.
Then we can look to over pay no matter who we sign. It's the market, I don't think 5/80 is too much, but he's likely to get a lot more
Aren't you listening to Wash?
He already is the lead-off
If the season started today, yes, but I can almost guarantee that Wash would rather JD upgrade that spot.

Watching the stars game with my scout friend right now. The only information I got was that they should learn a lot more tomorrow about future moves
