In Beltre we trust.
For the record, I don't want that to really happen. Just trying to reason with people that want him traded. Others have suggest Kinsler for Matt Gimp...I mean Kemp.

And that's exactly why I posited the Soriano and Salary dump idea. The Cubs are paying most of his Salary this year. I think that's in the realistic realm of possibilities for skill set value. And with Kemp you would have to take on all of his deal in the swap. Financially it would be better to dump him for lesser talent, if you were sold on the idea of him leaving. But it is realistic to understand that Kinsler will not fetch much in return due to his salary commitments going forward
His health wouldn't be the reason I would say hell no to that deal. You would be taking on 120 MM while sending out 57MM. Ouch...just read that Kemp is having surgery on his left shoulder so don't think i would do the trade

still think we're more likely to trade Profar than either Kinsler or Andrus
forget Elvis....that would be beyond stupid. You've seen all that kinsler will be and that is certainly replaceable. I sure can't say that about Profar.

I think he's speaking more about the ability to trade them due to their salaries than their talent
b/c he's right, Profar is more likely to be traded than the other 2 b/c no one wants to take on those salaries, b/c he's desirable, he's talented AND cheap
Beane won't trade within the division, but maybe Balfour is a free agent, I guess I don't know
That was a medium leverage situation at best. Bucholz left the ball up over the plate and Longo finally made real contact. Wouldn't all it clutch.
That has no bearing on the leverage index. It was a cool sequence and fun game to watch though. Peralta did the nearly the same thing today, but I would still only call it medium leverage, because it wasn't a close and late situation. That's why you're awesome Rev, you stick to your guns. Down three in the bottom of the 5th in an elimination game against a pitcher who was dominating is only medium leverage? Now that's funny my man. I will give you this, it was a hanger from Bucholtz and honestly I thought it was off the end of the bat and it only went about 335' so you're even being a bit generous saying he made real contact. one thing is for sure, he's definitely no Reggie Jackson yet.
no offense but that's stupid if you're not trading to make your team better. I sure hope this isn't the mindset of the rangers. I also think it's your opinion about salary being the most desirable. If Texas put all three up, I'd bet the deals fly in for elvis....contract or not. Opinions vary but point taken about the easiest to move if money is the only factor

Profar's trade value took a hit this year so he may not fetch as much in a trade as we think without including some more pieces.
To say it took a hit is pretty short sided; he was a 20 year old rookie with a grand total of 37 games at the AAA level,
He hit 6 HRs in a part time role from a premium defensive position while also at times showing a plus plus glove in irregular playing time
His value is probably as high as it ever was
Did he set the world on fire? No, but that's probably what should've been expected
Shortstops who flash solid gloves and can hit 15+ HRs are highly valuable and he's already shown he's capable of doing that with more experience going forward
