Beltre played 161 of 163 games. Good job there Wash.
And the prosecution rests Your Honor.

Tigers. Just like last year.

They are harmless weirdos. The Raiders and Dodgers fans are the ones I worry about.Gawd I hope so. Those A's fans are some sorry SOB's!!!!
If public dollars are being spent to build these stadium then the product on the field should be appealing. Otherwise you are just robbing tax payers from their hard earned money.
And the prosecution rests Your Honor.
I heard an idea about playing Profar at 3rd, with Beltre at DH. I'm not a fan of this idea either. I want to milk Adrian at 3rd as long as we can.
My "quasi" idea is to have Profar play 3rd 30 games, SS 15, 2nd 30, and DH another 25-35. That's about 110 games or so without anyone really getting hurt (i.e. Kins misses 50 games with injury) or - God forbid - Beltre missing 50 games with his hammies.
Look, Profar can certainly be traded, but we're getting long-in-the-tooth at 3rd and Kins is getting old looking, fast at 2nd.
But we do seem to have several good looking prospects in the minors, but probably a year away for the bigs.

So you're telling me you wouldn't trade Ian and Profar for Stanton? Miami is going to have to start filling those seats. They have changed management positions. Who knows what they will do.
It's not really up to him to decide what is best for the team. He should be sitting out of about 10 games per year anyway. 150 games is plenty for him. He needs regularly scheduled full off days that don't coincide with travel or the ASB.can you really see Beltre accepting DH'ing 30+ games?
Would take him in less than a heartbeat. Maybe not at what he would cost. His hamstrings do not scare me.I want nothing to do with Stanton

So one year removed from back to back fielder's bible awards he is milked? Cmon...Its been milked, look at his range numbers from this past season, pretty lousy for a guy who is and has been an elite defender

Which is why they need to discuss scheduled days off with him. They have two more years left on that contract and the way to get the most value out of him is by resting him regularly. Its pretty obvious his range is shot until his hamstrings heal and it was a problem pretty much all year
I'm not saying he's not going to bounce back, but it certainly cost him this past year
Without days off its going to continue to be a problem
Agreed
And Beltre DHing is not going to solve the problem of his chronic gimpy hammy's, he has hurt himself, more often than not, RUNNING the bases, not playing defense, he needs regular rest from playing AT ALL
