For Jacoby Ellsbury to re-sign with the Red Sox, he would have to be willing to accept a five-year deal that likely would not surpass $100MM. The Mariners, Rangers, Yankees, Tigers, Giants, and Phillies seem to have some level of interest, but whether they dive into the 6-8 year range at $20MM plus per year remains to be seen.

Is everyone really okay with Soria or Scheppers as our closer? I will miss the very few blown saves given up by Nathan. I am not sure I will have that same confidence level with whoever is our next closer. And whether we like it or not we will have a designated closer.

This is about the time in his recovery that we got Nathan back, Soria was a dominant closer once, the first half season back from TJ surgery is almost always a little up and down

I hope you are right. His control concerned me some last year along with his 3.80 era.

i understand that is what they want but there doesn't seem to be any team ready or willing to come close to that number

Agreed, I was just responding to the writer's question as to whether the rangers would go 180+ million for those guys.
