Agree but the offense could be above average. Hard to match Beltre. And if Odor continues to show the pop he showed at A and at the end if the year at Frisco then we could be okay. And you are right we really have no one to step in for Beltre down the road at this time. Profar is our best solution right now.

Don't say things like that, its stupid to move SS's to 3B but not to 2B

Absolutely. What Beltre does offensively is not the norm for a third baseman. The closest comp to him is David Wright, and even he falls short imo. I hope rangers fans resize this when Beltre is gone, but since most probably only started really paying attention in 2010, most will probably develop an unrealistic expectation.

Adrian will be remembered for years. One of those in a million.

Hopefully the second player to go into the hall of fame as a ranger. He will always be a legend in my mind.

Sorry, the Hall decides that. The writers put you in the hall. My bad on that.

The only other uniform I might see him going in wearing is a dodger uni.

Players don't decide it anyway. The writers do that.

I was being totally sarcastic

The funny thing about Beltre's Mariner career was that it wasn't that bad, yeah if people base it on HRs and RBIs it was a disappointment, but based on value he did pretty well there

He actually exceeded the value of his contract, but since so much of his value came from defense, people barely even noticed

Yeah. Ranger or Dodger makes way more sense. He's played his most consistent baseball in LA and Texas no doubt. Boston was only one year, but he was good there.

Funny to think how many doubles he stole from rangers.

Hard to believe they didn't make a bigger attempt to resign him.

You might move a SS to third as they age, but not a young one. Profar will still be incredibly young.
I'm not sure he will even stay at second, nor am I sure they intend to keep both of EA and Profar, that will depends on how Odor progresses, but I can almost guarantee you they will not move him to third in three years.

Don't understand the huge problem with moving Profar; 3 years or so down the road. Might happen, might not. But you're acting like this is insane.

The best 3rd baseman in the AL is a very young, converted SS in Baltimore.

I still believe Beltre is the best third baseman in baseball.

I was surprised by that myself.

I guess since he was coming off a career year they thought he'd be too expensive? Or maybe they didn't think he could do it again?

All I know is that I'm really glad we got Beltre, I mean he has seriously outperformed his contract.
