I don't know if this was media speculation or not, but a few weeks ago the buzz was, if the Rangers get Tanaka, then they'd move someone like Holland for a big bat/COF.

I think that died after Choo was signed. Texas could still likely target Bautista or EE but they would probably rather keep Holland now. If Harry could land someone like EE, then damn I would pull the trigger on that before you could blink. I love matty, but he would be expendable in that situation.

Did anybody hear why Baker failed his physical? I would be interested in seeing him back on our bench. He was sure valuable before his "high five" incident....

Yup, I'd package Harry and Rios for a big time COF not named Bautista. Rios would be expendable anyways, and if we are trading for an expensive guy with a long contract then the new team might enjoy having someone be a FA and off the books, perhaps to make room for a young guy.

I've read that the team and Harrison expect him back and at 100%. I know there's always an if involved with back injuries, and the Rangers/Matt have to be optimistic.

But keep in mind, this guy avg 200 innings, a 2 1/2-1 K/W ratio, with an ERA of 3.35 for the previous 2 seasons. That's some fine, fine numbers. Plus, he's 28 and under team control through 2018.

I'm not anxious to see this guy go anywhere.

I'll raise my price on what I think Tanaka's worth to 14-15 million. I just don't see how he can succeed I guess. I don't really see any other starting pitchers with such a flat and slow(not that 90-92 is slow) fastball succeeding.

if he comes to the major leagues and has 2 good years in a row I'll tip my cap and say I was wrong, but I just don't see it at this point. I mean, he's asking for the same money we just paid to choo. For an unproven guy thats a lot. If he asked for less years MAYBE. Getting over the century mark for this guy just seems excessive for a middle of the rotation pitcher

If we're not going to trade Moreland, at least get a RH hitter to DH also. I hope we don't have to rely on Moreland for more than 100 games.

Well if he's DHing against RH pitchers, then he'll get more than 100 games

I'm sure if Moreland is staying they'll get someone right handed to pair with him

JD is the one who said that it was at about 130-135 right now, but if its at 120 then why wouldn't we make another move? We could get morales in that range no problem. If we're all in this year then lets freakin be all in.

I think I heard it was a sports hernia, which was why he couldn't play in the field at the end of year. Not sure tho
