That would be me. Mainstream alternative rock is garbage.

Alternative music today has changed. Rock music in general today has changed and evolved. I'm pretty open to all types of music including mainstream but I agree a lot of the current pop music just blows. I try to stick to as much indie as I can.

Thanks Don. I was the one saying state tax has to be a consideration. Refugee thought it had nothing to do with Choo coming here. Thanks for clearing that up.

I still say DT that in the grand scheme of things players will almost always never choose to come here because of the state income taxes. Choo could be or may have been an exception but if our situation organization wise was like the Yankees and their situation was ours he'd be in pinstripes. Just my thought tho.

It makes a difference, but not as much as people make it out to be sometimes

Cruz is asking for 4/75 5/75 but what kind of money would Morales get? I gotta think he's still get 10-12 a year tho I guess we can probably just get him for 2 or 3 years?

It's not that big of a difference since the players will still have to pay income taxes for road games in states that have it. But if the contract amount differs by about 10 million or less then it makes a difference.

The rumors were that the AAV was anywhere from 17-21. So we got it a little below the median. I think the extra year isn't that big of a deal. With inflation and all 7 years from now, after trout, puig, myers, and others have hit free agency, it won't look all that bad

exactly, with inflation, I have confidence it will end up looking like a solid deal at the least, although I'd prefer a lower OBP if he gets hit by fewer pitches

It's probably a deal sweetener like free window tint on a new car. Nothing more.

Only thing that worries me is choo vs left handed pitching. Other than that, I'd say Choo was a superb signing. But I got an interesting text.

"I'm about to go to bed, but there is some chatter about justin masterson. I know you like him so I thought I'd mention it. Maybe we could get him for relatively cheap. Get a pretty decent righty and getting to keep our top young guys would be the absolute best case scenario."

Get masterson for one year for moreland and some average prospects. Worth a shot. He'd be perfect at number 3. Darvish, Perez/Holland, Masterson, Holland/Perez, and harri

Choo still gets on base versus lefties. That's what counts.

One year of Masterson isn't worth Moreland+

"I'm not so sure anymore we try to get a top pitcher on the market kind of guy. Looks more like we want to keep our prospects and just try to get a middle of the rotation dude. Masterson fits that bill, along with several others. I think a big trade for an ace pitcher is out of the question at this point."
