So what would Pavel get for this hit today? He's star but it's a doozy.

I love that the ref is five feet away with his back turned to the hit. Like you couldn't see that coming from a mile away on that shift.

Bure is a star, Churla is a knuckle dragger; I'd bet he'd get off with a fine at most.

Patches will have a hearing today for this hit on McDonagh...In my opinion, a fine at most (I guess the fact that McDonagh was hurt on the play is likely the reason for the hearing).

They might nail him because of the hit McDonagh put on Patches a few shifts before. It was from behind, no call on it, and it shook him up. So this was obvious payback. Of course there are plenty of times when its obvious what a player is trying to do and Shanahan says they don't know the players intent.

I'm biased I am sure but I don't think this was any worse than Schenn's hit on Gallagher and there was no hearing for that.

The wheel will spin!

Good, looked like a pretty run-of-the-mill boarding penalty to me. Of course, that didn't stop Torts from whining about it post-game.

Harry Z got 5 and a game misconduct for a knee on knee hit with under a minute to go in the Caps/Flyers game. Think Zolnierczyk (seriously find an easier name to spell) will get anything for it?

I don't think he gets anything for that. Doesn't seem to me like it was a total lead with the knee. Looks like he was attempting to make body contact but failed.

Hard to say what the Sheriff will do with the Harry Z. hit - I don't think it was as egregious as the Taylor Hall hit on Buttercup. Maybe a fine or a one game suspension at most.

I agree with that... and Perreault is my favorite player, so if anyone should be biased, it would be me.

4 games seems crazy.

IMO knee-on-knees are usually overreacted to. You don't want to stick your leg out on a guy, but you have just as much chance as being injured as the opponent in that situation.

It was dirty, but 4 games for a guy with a clean slate is laughable. But hey, he injured Lundin and isn't a star player.

Harry Z wasn't suspended for the knee, that game misconduct was rescinded by the league...

Here is what he got 4 games for.

Pronger's still on the payroll; it's alright, he can serve the suspension for Harry.

I just have no idea what Shanny is gonna do next. Watching that real time I asked myself why they called it charging, as Z didn't keep going through him. He took some steps, coasted, saw the head down and nailed him. It took slo-mo to even realize he kinda left his feet, and there could be an argument that he only left his feet extending through the hit. Not a *good* argument, but an argument. He targeted Lundin for sure, but it's not like he came across 3/4ths of the ice to do it.

Lundin wasn't looking and Z buried him. Not overly vicious. Certainly not deserving of more than one game, IMO.

Kaleta up next on the Wheel of Justice.

Probably looking at a decent suspension for this since a) he's a repeat offender (not for checking from behind, but been suspended before) and b) he hit a superstar. News report doesn't say it was in-person though, so probably 4 games max.

EDIT: Though maybe Shanny will just laugh and point out that he cost his team 2 PPGs against what was the 2nd worst PP in the league and then let him go.

That was a pretty bad cross-check into the boards - That said, who knows what Shanny will do?
