The best part about this is that Shanahan and Wiggum are two good Irish lads...

Chief Wiggum and Tyler Kennedy could be brothers. You know if one wasn't a cartoon and all...

John Erskine gets the gate for three games for his elbow to PHI Simmons.

Expect to see Jarret Stoll on this list soon for his hit on Cam Fowler.

The thing that amazes me most about the Erskine one is that with 4 officials on the ice, nobody saw fit to call a penalty. It's not like this was away from the play or anything.

League needs to start handing out suspensions to officials when they miss blatantly obvious penalties like this too.

Stoll one is a little tougher because Fowler definitely stopped right in front of him, so there's some vulnerable position considerations.

I would guess 1 game for Stoll.

Or when they assess major penalties for hits to the head when a guy hits a guy clean in the chest?

At the very least the league should have a grading system for their officials. Maybe they already do...but they really need to have something in place to keep them accountable. Most jobs have that, don't they? Missing something occasionally is okay, but completely blowing a call? That can't be done.

They definitely have some type of grading system, because they use that to determine who gets to work PO and SCF games.

Aside from a list of names though, they don't give any other information. And obviously they'd never publicly admit a mistake. :deadhorse:
