I'm wondering if this is a suspension to really tone down his game and not just about the hit. The hit may have been worth 2-3, maybe the extra 2 was for his overall body of work of late. Basically the league saying the hit was bad and you're a dick. Cut the shit.

I could see that. And honestly, I don't think any of us really mind if suspensions are a touch on the long side as long as they are ALL on the long side. If you run a guy you shouldn't get a pass just because you can put the puck in the net.

I'd also like to point out that Alfredsson cross-checked Rinaldo in the teeth with seven minutes to go in the game and got a match penalty for it. Wasn't suspended, fined, or even called. You can see it at the end of this:

I think Alfie would have at least gotten a fine had he only cross checked him in the teath once, but for him to do it twice, then he had good reason and Rinaldo deserved it. One stick infraction is intent, two or more proves the recipient deserved it.

That's why when Alfie fired that Puck at Scott Niedermayer in game 4 of the Cup Finals nothing became of that - Pronger was Niedermayer's teammate and Rinaldo is, well, you can connect the dots

I don't blame him, Cappy or Weight for being pissed off. Although I would have preferred Capuano being suspended.

I'd like to know how the Rangers DIDN'T commit 1 single penalty in three periods plus OT against the Islanders last night?

The entire team was giving the officiating crew a hard time on the way to the lockeroom. They were pathetic last night. The Isles didn't have 1 powerplay the entire game. The Rangers got a powerplay in OT. What a joke.

What makes it even worse is the Islanders were the home team.

To no one's surprise, ANA's Corey Perry has a telephone hearing with NHL on Wednesday. That means suspension can't be more than 5 games.

Having your head down is no reason for somebody to nail you in the head, but being the threat of somebody nailing you in the head is a very good reason to not keep your head down.
