Chase Thomas - LB - Cardinal

National Football Post's Russ Lande writes that Stanford OLB Chase Thomas is an underrated player in a 3-4 defense.

"Chase Thomas is a unique player because for teams that play 43 defenses he really has no role as he lacks the explosiveness off the ball and size to play as a defensive end and is not athletic enough to make the transition to a linebacker position," Lande writes. "However, as a 34 outside linebacker, I feel he is an under-rated prospect with the tools to not only start in the NFL, but to be a highly productive pass rusher and run defender."

Johnthan Banks - DB - Bulldogs

National Football Post's Dan Pompei writes one GM believes Mississippi State CB Johnthan Banks' length overcomes his lack of speed.

"The workout was definitely a concern for Banks," one general manager told Pompei. "But I think he can overcome his speed issues with his length. He picks off balls and makes plays." Pompei adds that Banks is likely a second-round selection next month. We agree that Banks' length will be a significant help for him in the NFL.

Tyler Bray - QB - Volunteers

The Pittsburgh Steelers reportedly took Tennessee QB Tyler Bray out to dinner prior to his pro day workout.

We are guessing the meal took place Tuesday night. It would be an interesting fit, as the Steelers offensive line has been known to put their quarterback under heavy pressure. Bray is certainly not as mobile as Roethlisberger, but his downfield arm is outstanding.

Assuming we keep our first 3 picks I would think we would draft at least one Defensive linemen. Hunt the guy i would want us to go after first. Then we can go after a guy like Reid, Hankins, or someone else with our next pick. I'm not really sold on many CB's in the late 1st/early 2nd round. I think the value there is Offensive and Defensive linemen. Just my opinion, though.

Hunt is too old and probably wouldn't start for a couple more years. I'd look more towards the 3rd for depth on DL

Mike Catapano - DL - Tigers

The Vikings, Bucs, and Eagles have shown "a ton" of interest in Princeton DE Mike Catapano, according to draft insider Tony Pauline.

Catapano would likely play left or strong side defensive end due to his powerful upper body and lack of quickness around the edge. He was a productive collegiate player with an NFL frame, but Catapano struggles with leverage and bend.

Ezekiel Ansah - DL - Cougars

Draft insider Tony Pauline reports that Andy Reid and the Chiefs' "brain trust" traveled to BYU to work out pass rusher Ezekiel Ansah.

The team's offensive line coach also joined to work out Braden Brown. Ansah is not often mentioned in the discussion for the first overall pick, but we think the Chiefs see him as a pass rushing linebacker or potential five technique. We expect a top 10 selection in either case.

Robbie Rouse - RB - Bulldogs

The New England Patriots are showing interest in Fresno State RB Robbie Rouse, according to draft insider Tony Pauline.

We can absolutely see the fit in the sixth- or seventh-round. Rouse is a very short and compact back who thrives on cuts in short spaces to avoid tacklers. We don't think he is as quick or fast as some will say, but Rouse is animated with his movements with good anticipation. He might be similar to Kevin Faulk in that respect.

Terrance Williams - WR - Bears

NFL.com's Gil Brandt considers Baylor WR Terrance Williams the 37th best prospect in the 2013 draft.

After discussing Williams' pro day, Brandt described the receiver as "a really good looking athlete and is a likely second-round selection in the 2013 NFL Draft." We aren't so certain that Williams will draw a top-64 pick, since he is a bit of a one trick pony at this point, specializing in vertical routes.

Jonathan Cooper - G - Tar Heels

The Sideline View's Lance Zierlein ranked UNC G Jonathan Cooper over Alabama's Chance Warmack.

Both are listed as first-round picks, the only two to earn that grade at the position. "Cooper has elite feet for the position," Zierlein writes. "I mean that. ELITE." We always respect Zierlein's offensive line evaluations, since he is the son of a NFL OL coach and puts in the work. Zierlein questioned Cooper's strength, but noted that he played 20 pounds lighter than his natural weight in 2012.

Chance Warmack - G - Crimson Tide

The Sideline View's Lance Zierlein is "not buying into some of the overall ratings" he's seeing on Alabama G Chance Warmack.

"If you are looking for a power player at guard to help move guys off the line of scrimmage then Chance Warmack is going to be your guy," Zierlein writes. "Warmack plays with a good pad level and has the type of thick trunk you would expect out of a power guard." Zierlein added that Warmack has fairly decent feet for a man his size, but chose to list Jonathan Cooper as the top guard.

Star Lotulelei at No. 4?
March, 21, 2013 9:28AM ET
By Tim Kavanagh | ESPN.com

Earlier this week, Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman hinted that the club is considering six or seven prospects for their first-round selection (No. 4 overall), and there are many more than that being speculated as being in the club's crosshairs. One of the players that some consider as being the most talented in the draft class is Utah DT Star Lotulelei, and naturally, many believe Philly could be interested.

You'll recall that Lotulelei had a health issue that prevented him from performing at the scouting combine, but he's since been cleared by doctors. And according to the DT, he's only got one official visit scheduled thus far, and it's with the Eagles, per Birds 24/7.

Going on the assumption that the Eagles are going to run a three-man front, they've got two starters projected in place in Fletcher Cox (at one DE slot) and Isaac Sopoaga (at NT). Lotulelei would fit nicely as that other DE.

Cordarrelle Patterson - WR - Volunteers

The Sideline View's Lance Zierlein "can't shake the feeling that we could be looking at the next Troy Williamson" when watching Tennessee WR Cordarrelle Patterson.

"Patterson has the size and speed that teams salivate over," Zierlein writes. "I absolutely love his big play ability, but he's still raw. Hard to overlook his high-end traits though." Zierlein lists Patterson as his top receiver and a first-round pick.

Eddie Lacy - RB - Crimson Tide

NLF teams have voiced some "some long-term durability concerns" regarding Alabama RB Eddie Lacy, according to The Sideline View's Lance Zierlein.

"I don't see a back in this draft that I want to draft in the first round, but Eddie Lacy gets the closest to that," Zierlein writes. "The problem with Lacy is that it feels like his value might be a little inflated based on the last game we saw him play (Notre Dame)." His pre-draft process has been far from ideal due to injuries limiting his availability.

Matt Barkley - QB - Trojans

The Sideline View's Lance Zierlein listed four QBs with possible second-round talent or grades.

Geno Smith earned an outright first-round grade while Matt Barkley was given a second-round grade. E.J. Manuel and Mike Glennon were given second- or third-round designations. "Matt Barkley is worth a late first round pick in my opinion, but only to a team who has a starter in place and who is looking to try and groom him," Zierlein writes. "If a bad team drafted him and tried to plug him in right now, I think he would fail and potentially fail miserably. He needs more coaching."

Landry Jones - QB - Sooners

ESPN's Mel Kiper and Todd McShay both list Oklahoma QB Landry Jones among their top five prospects at the position.

Kiper lists Jones fifth, with McShay having the Sooner signal caller at number four. The former then went on to say Jones is the biggest risk of the group. "There's a roll of the dice, a risk/reward with Landry Jones," Kiper explained. We are a bit shocked that he wound up on either evaluator's top five, and he's a fringe top 10 player at the position for us.

Peters' health influencing Eagles' draft?
March, 21, 2013 10:36AM ET
By Tim Kavanagh | ESPN.com

An intriguing development this week at the NFL owners meetings in Arizona saw Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid being interviewed during the coaches' breakfast by a handful of media members... all from Philadelphia. Apparently the media in K.C. doesn't believe the local football team's high-profile new HC has anything interesting to say for their readers. Nevertheless, all of those Philly reporters were also in town to check in with the high-profile new HC of their city's pro football team, Chip Kelly. Kelly had a few intriguing nuggets for those in attendance, including the fact that veteran LT Jason Peters is expected to be ready to participate at the start of the team's offseason program on April 1, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

So despite rupturing his Achilles tendon twice last offseason, we should see Peters back mixing it up as one of the bookends on the Eagles' line in 2013. The good news may have larger implications, though; namely, will this positive development influence where Philly goes at No. 4 overall?

Within the list of prospects considered to be on the radar for Philly at that spot are OTs Luke Joeckel and Eric Fisher. If one of them is the choice at No. 4, that could mean shifting them over to RT, moving incumbent Todd Herremans inside to RG, and letting former first-rounder Danny Watkins hang out on the sidelines every Sunday. But, based upon what they'll see with Peters from Apr. 1 to Apr. 25 (the night of the first round), they'll be able to assess whether this plan will work, or whether they'll need a more immediate solution at LT. Suffice to say, it wouldn't be a bad idea to draft a franchise LT-in-waiting, either, given that Kelly and Co. don't plan on having a Top 10 pick every season, and that's generally where those players emerge from.

The next several weeks will be intriguing ones in Philly as the club gets ready to invest its highest first-round pick since 1999, the year they landed franchise QB Donovan McNabb.

Jordan Mills - T - Bulldogs

Despite some reports of a second day selection following a strong Seniow Bowl week, former NFL scout Russ Lande is hearing that Louisiana Tech T Jordan Mills now appears to be a fifth rounder.

"Scouts and coaches went back and pulled out the Louisiana Tech game film to evaluate this player who shocked everyone in Mobile, they were very disappointed," Lande writes. "Some NFL personnel that we spoke to said that regardless of the athleticism he showed in Mobile, he did not show the foot quickness and flexibility to handle playing tackle in the NFL and would have to slide inside to play guard."

Completely disagree. All season he was getting 2nd round hype, and I've been saying he's more like a 5th-round talent.
