Is LeBron headed home? His wife spurs speculation | FOX8.com

Thoughts? Not sure why in the world she would post something like that, if for no other reason than he says he's heading back home.

I've said this before and will say it again - the best think he can do, imo, is to go back to Cleveland and at least try to make good on his original promise to bring them a title.

Why is this the best thing he can do?

Didn't Lerner pretty much blasted him on the way out?...who really knows what LBJ is going to do, but imo the best thing for him would be if LBJ/Wade/Bosh opted out and came back at lower prices and fit Melo in there. That would all but ensure another trip to the finals

Why?

My opinion has always been that he wouldn't play for Gilbert.
It really isn't my hope.
My hope is he stays.
If he leaves, I really don't care where he goes, I'll be rooting against whatever city it is.

Lol, why lie and say you'll continue to be a Heat fan? Where James goes, you go. Just like the rest of the Heat fans.

This is what's making basketball really start to suck. These guys are just so filthy stinking rich.. why don't they just all take league min. for a few years so they can put the "dream team" together and dominate?

Lerner?
You mean Gilbert.

But yes, coming off 4 years in a row in the Finals, I agree you stay put.
Riley/Arison publicly said ' whatever it takes'.
Until they don't follow through on their words, you have to believe them.

Star players (albeit not in their prime) have moved in the past to seek a title...Malone and Payton went to LAL seeking one unsuccessfully...MJ didn't start taking a big salary until the end...he had the Nike cash to live on.

Why assume anything but that? You may very well be a heat fan and not a Ledud fan, but most people aren't. They just like to follow the popular guy around.

Thanks...we both caught that.

Everyone is talking about Melo, but a guy I (old LAL fan here) think works is Ariza from WAS.

Most of these guys move around at the end of their careers because the team they were with was moving in a different direction that didn't include them... so most of them decided to take less for a final year to see if they could help someone win a title. Granted this is baseball, but look at Poojols. He wanted too much money, so the cards told him to pack his shit and hit the road. This is what used to happen to the elite once they got to too old. MJ also didn't ask to bring elite talent into the mix. He had Pippen, but Pippen wasn't really and elite player. He just played well with Jordan.

If James joined the spurs... not 5, 6, 7, but 8... for TD... :yahoo:

The Spurs played great as a TEAM. Tossing lebron into the mix doesn't necessarily mean they become a better team. Who do they have to cut to make room for lebron? Can everyone else make the adjustments to play lebron's type of ball?

MJ may not have asked but his salary for such a star player allowed for them to add pieces that fit the system...they were not stars in the their own right, but much like SA this year, they were perfectly suited for their roles in the triangle...if he had been maxing out on salary idk if they would've won 6 titles.

Pippen...he's never going to get his just due playing next to superman, but they were not a bad basketball team when he was asked to take over. I will say this...Pippen never won a title w/o MJ, but MJ never won one w/o him either.

Because he knows ( I believe) that I found sports threads on CBS a couple years before James came as a Heat fan.
True, a lot of new Heat fans became Heat fans in 2010.

But let's not limit it to just Miami.
Tons of new Cavs fans were generated because of James.
And....if he chooses to play for another city...
the same thing will happen there.

I could go into how it would work money wise, but its a waste of time because it'll never happen.

James with the right coach, and players around him.. i don't think it would be Jame's type of hero ball (Which I'm not even convinced he likes doing).. he seems to be lack luster of taking control of games like he should and can. With a great supporting cast around him he can do enough to get his own while the others step up when needed. He loves to pass the ball, so ... kinda fits the system.

The biggest challenge for James would be his approach to practice, games, and etc with his little entourage.

Yep, let Lebron come ruin the Heat's team chemistry. Hopefully in the next 4 years, he delivers another 2 titles (at least).

If anything is true about Lebron it's this. Criticism affects him greatly.

He knows nothing will change if he stays with the Heat. Expect a move that in some shape or form will ease the critics. (I'm not saying that is even possible)

Lebron shouldve just bought the clippers....renamed them the lebrons....cut everyone but cp3 and griffen and go out and get melo, dwight howard, and durant......then maybe lebron would be happy....his all star dream team got old....time to kick them to the curb and join up with the guys in their prime.....oh lebron, you wouldve never seen jordan chasing barkley, kemp, malone, or stockton, saying hey lets join up and win....he won with what the bulls gave him.

Why is it that LeBron critics make such a big deal about how LeBron can't compare to Jordan... and yet they are the worst offenders at making the comparisons. If your biggest critics are constantly comparing you to the greatest of all time... you're doing good.

Now, if you insist on making the comparison...

What the bulls gave Jordan >>> What the Cavs gave LeBron

And its not even close. Anyone think that Eric Snow, Larry Hughes, Michael Jordan, Drew Gooden, and Ilgauskus are winning the championship in 2007?
