I think Lopez will play as the best C next year. His stats were deflated last year because of 3 main reasons. Avery/PJ did not use him enough or give him enough minutes. The Nets had one of the slowest paces in the league. They also had NO SPACING with Wallace and Evans. With Pierce and KG Lopez will have so much space. Lopez was already blocking a lot of shots, if he can be quicker on his defensive rotations and be more focused on rebounding I can see a 25/10/3blocks a game average.

Your team will be a contender next year, but it helps the Celtics. Were all about titles and we need to rebuild to get there. Will have two 1st rounders in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2018. Anyone who thinks that wont help is pretty dumb.

I must not have been paying attention, but I haven't really seen this anywhere. It is an asinine statement.

The East has seemingly been the weaker of the two since Michael left the Bulls the 2nd time.

Just look at all the teams they have had make the playoffs with sub .500 records over the years while the West seems to put above .500 teams in the lottery every year.

I must have seen it in a different thread. But I disagree with the East being stronger, despite the Heat winning the last two seasons.

But the Nets have so many question marks still (old team, new rookie coach, how Joe Johnson will do, etc.) for me to consider them a legit title contender ahead of the Pacers and Bulls.

The Heat still won the series against the Pacers and did so against the Bulls back in 2011 when the Bulls had a much deeper bench then they do now. That was two years ago but the premise remains the same. Wade will obviously be the X-factor, but Wade never has played well against Chicago in the Big 3 era. When Derrick Rose comes back, it's going to come back to being Derrick Rose or bust for them at this point.

The Heat don't need to make any bid adjustments, just small ones. The Heat's owner doesn't mind paying the luxury tax so long as he as a title contending team. We don't need to get rid of Lewis, Allen and Miller because they're shooters off the bench and that's it. They give Lebron and Wade much space to move the ball and drive the lane.

The Pacers are the only legit team that concerns me and that's because of their front court. Granger will likely be gone by playoff time via trade and the Pacers will likely bolster their bench depth because of it.

But you don't fix what's not broken. You only modify it slightly.

Defensively we won't be as good as those teams but the Nets give me one hope that they can beat the Heat and that is Lopez. Hibbert is a good C but his offense isn't that good and he looked like Kareem playing against the Heat. If Hibbert can do that Lopez should dominate the Heat bigs since he is the best offensive C in the league. Unless the Heat get bigger by adding Oden or someone else the Nets will be a threat because of Lopez.

Hibbert was always a problem for the Heat, but that's due to his length and his ability to rebound. Lopez is about as tall, but is a horrible defender and rebounder. Also, David West helped out under the boards as well. Don't sleep on Hibbert, that man has gotten better year by year. I'm telling you right now, the Nets are not a threat. Having star power doesn't mean ish unless utilized properly in the right system. Let me know what schemes Jason Kidd has in place as well as defense. The top 3 teams in the East this coming season will be the Heat, Pacers and Bulls. Guess what their team defensive stats finish at by season's end - likely 1,2,3.

Since your a Heat fan I'd say the Pacers are your biggest thread with the Bulls being a close second.

Keep thinking Pierce and Garnett have nothing left. When they're not asked to play big minutes, they have more than enough to contribute to that team.

I disagree. They are a threat. I think the Bulls/Heat wil be the top 2 seeds but I think Brooklyn will be 3. Last year with a crappy team, they owned Indy all year long

All about winning titles?
A couple ex Celts pretty much handed you one 6 years ago, but how about the other 25 years surrounding that one?

3 top picks? LOL those picks are going to be in the 20-30 range except for maybe the 2018 pick but the 2014 and 2016 pick will be between 20-30.

You're not finding any franchise players most years if you're picking between 20-30

The Celtics have 2 1st rounders in 2014, 2015 and 2016, act like that isn't good. Plus 2 1st rounders in 2018. I'm not saying it's perfect, but with 6 1st rounders in 3 years, something good will come of it.

Brooklyn should be really good for 2 years. After the 2015 season this trade won't look nearly as good.

It's time to rebuild, but it's been a good run with KG and Pierce. Yeah and Ray Allen.......

They have 2-3 years, then it's back to the lottery.

I wouldn't say that because they will still have Williams/Lopez who will both still be in their prime. I think they will still be a playoffs team but more in the 6-8 range probably.

I agree, but aren't Garnett and Pierce near the end of their contracts? I'd consider it a success if they got a good 2 years out of this and then let Garnett and Pierce go off into FA, if they haven't retired by then. They also got rid of Gerald Wallace's contract

Your joking right? We got 3 top picks for players who are over the hill. We can't win a championship, so why not get 3 top picks and some players? In the bean its championship or nothing. Yeah next season we probably get to the second round, but that's nothing to us.

Bro those picks wont be top picks. They will be late 1st round.

And you are kidding yourself if you think the Celts even sniff the playoffs....

2nd round...:laugh3:

Don't worry I will. They showed me they have nothing left in the tank getting demoralized by an overrated Knicks team in the playoffs in the first round. :D
