Rangers open 2013 season at Houston and face NL Central in Interleague play plus a 4 game (2 home 2 away) series with Arizona. That "rivalry" series will be with Colorado in even years , Arizona in odd years, with Houston doing the opposite.

Also hearing Reds to play in Arlington, Rangers to play in Pittsburgh, but unsure about Milw, Stl, Cubs. (one of these will be another 4 game set, 2 home 2 away)

Don't like all these 2 home and 2 away series ... costs a lot of travel days and means off days will be even more limited during the heat of the AL run in Aug and Sep.

Darvish goes against Seattle this coming Friday.... will be interesting to see if it was just Ichiro that was messing with his head..or the whole Mariners team in general.

I just know it seemed like Ichiro owned Darvish. Hopefully he'll continue his trend. We're going to have to beat up on the lesser teams to keep our lead in the AL.

I wouldn't be surprised if Napoli has played his last game as a Ranger.

His walk numbers have propped up his OBP ... but rest of his numbers are well off his 2011 ... and also off his career line.

Hope he enjoys all the horseplay in the dugout with Beltre this season. Next year he'll have to find a new dance buddy.

just wondering if we pass on Napoli do you think the Rangers might consider signing Pierzynski to a 1 or 2 year deal to replace him?

Some may not like him playing for CHW ... but if he's playing for your team you love him. For a third less than what Napoli cost TEX this season... AJ would be a nice addition.

My understanding is he's clubhouse cancer and he's a complete asshole to young pitchers. No thanks.

2013 schedule has been released.

As stated before, Opening in Houston...then home for the Angels.
Close the season at home. 3 w/Astros, 4 w/Angels

Rangers Schedule | texasrangers.com: Schedule

Cool ... we can only hope HOU signs 1 year deals with both Clemens and Oswalt ... and then hope neither get injured in ST so TEX faces them in the opening series.

I see TEX first interleague opponent is @CHC 16-18 April 3 game series.

I've been thinking how Texas' rotation could end up being very left handed heavy in the not too distant future. We've got great starting arms from the left side in Holland, Harrison, Perez, and Ross. Could make for some interesting decisions down the line, but man isn't it nice to have so many good young starters coming up?

Per Newberg: The Rangers are set to announce the signing of righthander Colby Lewis to a one-year contract extension through the 2013 season. Contract terms have not been disclosed.

good even though there is a chance that he won't be ready to pitch until late July or August

Would be nice if he was ready to pitch for the team a little earlier.

that's probably part of the Rangers thinking with the incentives they've included in the extension, but from a practical frame of mind this type of surgery normally requires a minimum of 9 months for the pitcher to be ready to start soft tossing, at minimum a month to build up his arm and probably at a minimum another month of late ST to be ready to face MLB hitters. l

Nice that they made the offer ... hope it isn't just a PR thing.

Would be interesting to know he is to earn those incentives above the base. If he pushes to come back early to earn them it could literally end his career.

I don't ever remember anyone coming back from arm/shoulder surgery early and successfully.
