Ravens looked sunk with Flacco turning to crap, Lamar literally saved them and tip of the cap to John Harbaugh for building around him. Yes he won't last, but been good for the Ravens while it lasts. It was a A+ move to draft and build around him, teams like the Jets wished they could do the same. Course it will end and you can take some bows with "I knew it all along" when that happens but you'll still be wrong.

Just so we're clear here, I agree with you 100%. I'll extend an olive branch to myself, WE"RE DONE WITH LAMAR JACKSON. It was a great show on turf, hey a HUGE political and monetary statement (yah, I know this isn't the PC forum, but let's just do this), and that's it.

We're done... it's a losing position in the NFL. Hey, if it becomes the way to play NFL, awesome. We've yet to seen it, not anything close... and with a QB that's gotten worse passing the ball every year, running the ball every year, racking up more injuries, and even calling out the league for his lack of protection (I mean that was one of the biggest overlooked jokes of the year), I digress

Definitely. Despite them having little overall playoff success Lamar has put butts in the seats and been a very exciting player.

I think giving him 250 over 5 is total insanity but it isn't unfathomable he could play to that deal over 5 years

The big issue with that deal is that it hampers your ability to build around that player. So even though the deal is 5 years it's easily a decade kind of commitment. Your franchise is saying this is the guy for the next 10 years.

Drafting a QB and having success is the goal of every team in need of a QB. Ravens have had the success many teams crave but instead draft QBs like Zach Wilson or Josh Rosen ect. Lamar been a huge success for the Ravens.

I'm not sure what the political statement is. A lot of us agree that his long term prospects are highly risky. But it doesn't mean it's been a failure.

Not sure what kind of money he'll get ( it will be a lot), but the guarantee will be less then he desires no matter who he ends up playing with because his style can not hold up in the long run, everyone is aware of that except maybe one particular Eagle fan.

We'll see how it goes. Lamar is the type of QB where teams know a guaranteed contract will bite them in the ass so I'd wager money he doesn't get as much guaranteed as say Murray or RW, it will be considerably less, he's to big of a risk.

He's such a vastly superior QB to Kyler. He will get a bigger contract with more guaranteed money.

lol please. "The position isn't just a white mans sport anymore!" There was various social media dorks and announcers/analysts saying it. Which is beyond stupid because when Vick did the same thing nobody said it... but now people are ... um... EMPOWERED!

It's a fuckin' stupid world we live in.

I don't mean to disparage the guy and drag this out but he's not smart lol.

Maybe in a sense between the tackles he is obviously but...yea.

I appreciate having confidence in yourself but he just had a year of which his backup played just as well.
Huntley threw 3 TD's compared to 4 INT's.....he can't read a defense for shit

Can u site a specific article about that? Doug Wililiams and Warren Moon crossed that threshold about 3 decades ago

No, I can't. Just remember seeing and hearing the ridiculousness. Hell I was called racist by people (and some on this board no longer here) for saying RG3 was going to bust.

I would take Jackson's numbers over 12 and 16....which is what Huntley's would be over a full season

The point wasn't that Huntley was better. Just that Lamars weren't much better.

Are we still doing this "running QBs don't last long" thing? The fact he's starting his fifth year with no major injuries kinda proves it's not that serious.
Running QB's are no more prone to injury than pocket QB's (especially if they're playing behind a shitty O-line).

Y'all do realize he was on pace to throw for 4000yds and rush for 1000 last season, right? Had the team at 8-3 before the team unraveled with injuries and Roman and Harbaugh couldn't find an answer for the cover 0 defense teams were playing most of the season. He more of less WAS the Ravens offense last year.

As long as the Ravens are healthy, they should stay contenders with Jackson. Their record without him shows that.

Wilson's deal kind of proves Watson's was an anomaly in terms of guaranteed money.

I think between 180-200 guaranteed is fair based on current market values.

Of course they're more prone to injury. They're getting hit WAY more.

Further the point wasn't necessary injury.. but that he will decline quicker than most qbs because his legs will go. See Mike Vick and Randall

Vick was a better passer when he got older though

People need to see Lamar outside of Roman's offense. He can play in pass heavy offenses (I will admit he could be more consistent when he has to be pass heavy). Nearly every receiver that's left the Ravens has said as much.

Hopefully once the RBs get healthy, they wont have to rely on him as much in the running game like last year.
