A lot of teams have gotten close but only a few have done it. It would be interesting to look at.

The Chiefs offense played really well a week before against the Bills and they started off hot. Had that continued, the Ravens would've been forced to go to a shootout but that didnt happen. The Ravens D, best in the league, stepped up. Down 10...No big deal at all. Whatever reason they had for abandoning the run has to be dumb.

I didn't think Jackson was worth the contract money he agreed to in 2023, and I still don't. However, I clearly undervalued him, by a large margin. Congrats to him on yet another MVP candidate worthy season.

He's a tremendous player and athlete, but he's not a QB i'd want if the team is losing late in a game. That's not to say losing was his fault. The Ravens picked a bad time to lose discipline. The 4 X 15 yard penalties hurt, as did the 'hero stretching for the goal-line' fumble. Then again Jackson isn't a team leader in such matters.

this is pretty much where I land. Except I don't think he's undervalued and I think he receives a substantial amount of benefit playing with leads because he has a top 5 defense.

He's clearly a top 10 qb. But I'm choosing at least 8 other guys if I'm trying to recapture a lead. He becomes less dynamic when passing is an obvious result.

Gus Edwards had 3 carries in this game and 3 in the 2019 game against TEN

Lamar can't win playoff games single handedly (nor should he have to). You saw Mahomes try to do that in the SB that one year - same result

Admittedly, my take was wrong on that one to some degree. Fwiw, I don't blame the loss to the Chiefs on Lamar either. I blame it on coaching (most notably, playcalling) and stupidity by certain Ravens players being too jacked up.

My take as well. There was absolutely no reason to abandon the game plan that had got them here. And then to be continually going for the home run balls vs that secondary played right into the Chiefs strength. I think the Flowers stupid taunting penalty and then followed up by the fumble basically sealed their fate. They were playing scared and not confident.

2019 was a bit different imo. The Titans had a 28-6 lead going into the 4th. The Titans pass D wasn't anything special. Mahomes passed for 294 yards and 3 TDs in the next game. A lot of teams would've abandoned the run there.

I think I get why the Chiefs went YOLO with Mahomes against the Bucs. With their offensive line and with Brady torching the D they weren't winning that game no matter what. That said, it would've been nice to see more run plays.

If the AFCCG was the Ravens mo for years then they need to make adjustments. I get the Ravens win a ton of games but you have to factor in your opponent.
