Coming off a game where our offense looked dead for a full half and our secondary was torched all night, we get the reward of playing Wilson and the Seahawks.

Vegas started us off as 3-3.5pt favorites, but so many have taken the NIners, that is down to 2.5 now. The only reason I see that is b/c the Seattle defense, particularly their secondary, has been BAD. Like Niners v. Packers bad.

Imo, I don't see how we can win this game. I think our offense will be able to move the ball, but I fail to see how our defense has any chance at stopping the explosive Seattle passing game. Wilson frustrated our D when we had a good D, so having rookies and street FAs at CB doesn't bode well.

What do you guys think, how will this one go?

I don't know what to expect. Part of me thinks that the defense will come out guns blazing with something to prove after last week's finish. It's a home game against a division rival which should add some additional intensity. With how competitive the division is, this feels close to a "must win" game... even this early in the season.

I don't have much hope for the DB's at all. The run-game is severely limited. Feels like a close one, but Seattle probably comes out on top:

SEA - 28
SF - 26

I hold out hope that a divisional game and the defense's pride will save the day... it's certainly possible.

I hate to say it:
Seattle 34
49ers 17

Wilson is on a 2 game losing streak. He has never lost 3 in a row. We struggle against Wilson when our defense is playing well. Considering the state of our defense now, I don't see us winning this game.

I hate to say it but SF should be favored by 6 over Seattle at this point.

Watching Pete C basically admit his DBs are complete shit (without actually saying it) was cringy ("We played to our strengths and kept everything in front of us").

As a Seahawks' fan I certainly do not discount their ability to turn it around but with the DL being inconsistent, the shitty CB play cannot be protected.

Don't you come on this board with a negative jinx for the Seahawks... you keep that bad juju to your own board!! :nono:

Can't you see we're busy over here trying to muster up our own negative jinx!

i admit i was WAY more optimistic against the Pack. :-)

I also predict Lance gets more than 5 snaps in this game.
Me too. I thought we were going to win the Packer game by a somewhat comfortable margin and then lose to Seattle. So, maybe we get lucky this week and win a gmae we're should lose.

As for Lance--I agree. I think Shanny has to get him a little more involved. Honestly, if Grop had come out and struggled in our first 2nd half drive against the Packers, I was expecting to see Lance brought in to play the rest of the game.

If we enter the bye at 2-3, does Lance get the start against Indy after that? Hell, me thinking that usually means that Grop will have a great game and I'm thinking all this for nothing.

With Kittle questionable its 50-50 if he can go. If he doesn't play, forget it.

Normally the 49ets lose this type of game but always find a way to stay close. Things are so bad on the defense now with no pass rush and a horrendous secondary that I think this will be the exception. I have it 33-17 for the Seahawks but even if the 49ers keep it close they will give it up at the end; the coaching is just too bad

Trey Lance out played Russell Wilson and we still lost. That fumble on the kickoff was the big play Seattle needed to secure the win despite how terrible they were on offense for most of the game.

He looked confused and awful at first but late in the 4th quarter he seemed to settle down and did ok. He's not Garoppolo for sure but I did see him do some things that Garoppolo can't do.

I honestly didn’t see us winning this one, our D has just been god awful the last 2 games, but played better today, surprisingly … On a bright note for the 49rs number 5 looks like he has some potential…

Why the heck did the 49ers take out Jimmy G he was dicing the defense it seemed like last week all over again and that we were in for a long day. What really killed the 49ers was their kicker going down that really changed the landscape of the game if you take away the ability to kick FGs that puts the pressure on the offense to score TDs.

Lance played ok but only on broken plays or blown coverages. You can’t base an offense on broken plays

Garoppolo has a calf injury. He’s out for a few games. I guess we’ll see what we have in Lance

JG coulda just quit on the team before the game so that we had time to prep Lance a bit better. I don't have any sense of how serious the injury is, but I didn't see any sort of limp or other indication that he couldn't go out and play.

Lance fared as well as you could have hoped. Not sure they can really go back to JG after Lance starts the process, given how much they gave up to get him, even if his performance is bumpy. We'll see, but it sure feels like the JG era is over.
