Will you nerds quit wishing this evil that is Eason on the team for a whole bother year? Jesus. He’s made perfectly clear he’s here to impress NFL scouts for a year with his raw talent, and gone. Let it happen.

If Eason had more than 1 guy that can catch a ball he'd look a lot better, but I really don't care If he leaves. The kids behind him won't have his arm, but might be better under pressure. It's a tradeoff I'd be up for

Don’t get the pressure complaints about him. Seems decisive enough and gets rid of the ball when he should, doesn’t really do anything stupid. Not every quarterback can be like the very few we’ve seen throughout the leagues who can consistently turn those situations into positives.

the folding under pressure complaints about browning were valid because he’d tend to turn into a complete spaz and do stupid shit, haven’t seen that at all this year.

Well maybe if they would have realized when this kid got here last year from Georgia and installed a better pro style offese to cater to his tools , then the numbers would be higher for him.

Then again he has a bunch of senior wide outs that can't hold on to the damn rock so my point sucks now.....
And now I just wasted typing all this out .....

The receivers have been a weak link since the Ross and Pettis year.

I don’t have any complaints with what Eason has done play wise. He’s clearly a freak QB talent in many respects. My issue with him is watching him it’s pretty clear he came here for a year of exposure before entering the draft. He seems to have no leadership qualities. The team doesn’t seem to care about him, and watching him pout on the end of the bench by himself last week at the game pushed all of it over the edge.

Let him go next year, figure out which of these big time recruits we’ve been talking about the last few years can get their shit together and carry the team for a couple years.

The leadership thing is valid too. Doesn't really show any emotion when the team is struggling in the 4th quarter. Just doesn't look like he cares either way.

Next year they basically start over on O line. At least starters.

Im not hating on Eason. I'd be fine I'd he stays, but also fine If he leaves.

The issues this year aren't his fault, but he also isn't visibly looking to pull that offense together.

Next year they take a step back on the line. But probably a few steps forward at receiver.

I think with the younger guys in the waiting on the Oline they will be fine.
I think this next group will have a little more mean streak in them and will be a huge asset for the running game.
I talked a little with Huff in the spring at a camp and they want to be more physical up front. technique and zone guys are good to have but they want that nasty streak in them as well.

It depends on the style of offenses they are playing against and what their reads are, sometime with younger players they have tendency of stepping to far on read options ( zone read) QB could be his assignment so when the QB looks like he's going to give it to the RB put pulls it out last second that linebacker has already committed to that run on the RB...

My bigger issue is between the tackles, I can understand on zone read plays getting tripped up but on a power run up the middle between the tackles the linebackers appear to be out of position and have struggled to tackle well and get off blocks. Even though Ngata and Sirmon don't have as much experience as Wellington and Manu, I'd like to see them on the field more as I feel the defense has been better with them on the field.

To a certain extent I understand Petersen's desire to play older/more experienced players, but when two seniors (Manu and Wellington) have struggled so much you're better off just playing the younger guys so they have that experience next year. Based on the snap counts of the defense, it does appear that the coaches have realized that to a certain extent.

Eason has played pretty well given the situation and the Huskies are much better off having a returning starting QB than having a QB competition between guys who have never played any real snaps. I don't deny Eason will probably declare for the draft, but if you expect Jacob Sirmon or Ethan Garbers to replicate or exceed Eason's production, you're likely going to be deeply disappointed.

I disagree. Eason has been excellent with a clean pocket but whenever he has been under pressure he has been completely awful. I don't have the numbers but I'd be willing to bet his completion percentage when he's not being rushed would be above 70% and when he is being rushed I'd bet it's somewhere between 40-50%. Not sure how much of it is his fault since the WRs just don't seem to be getting much separation without Eason having a decent amount of time to throw.

The receivers have been a weak link since the Ross and Pettis year.

I will concede that I definitely agree he came here so that he could get scout attention so he can go to the NFL and you're right that he has zero leadership qualities. I've heard numerous times that he's a "silent leader" which sounds like an oxymoron to me.

I don’t care if they replicate his on the field production (whatever that is or has achieved). As long as they’re working towards something.

You’re argument about the pressure thing is his numbers aren’t as good when he’s pressured as when he isn’t? I don’t think you’re ever gonna be pleased if that’s your bar for successfully handling pressure.

And silent leader... what’s that even mean? “He may not look like an outgoing leader who gives any shits, but believe me, when he walks off the field and sits by himself on the end of the bench, the team really responds to it.”

yeah that loyalty card toward upperclassmen needs to be thrown out along with the Boise playbook! It’s time to act like a big boy program

The QB is the most important position on the team, why wouldn't you care if his performance isn't replicated or exceeded?

You’re argument about the pressure thing is his numbers aren’t as good when he’s pressured as when he isn’t? I don’t think you’re ever gonna be pleased if that’s your bar for successfully handling pressure.

I'm not claiming that he should be excellent when he's pressured, but he has been terrible under pressure. I'm repeating myself at this point but he has been excellent with a clean pocket and obviously a QB is likely to not perform as well under pressure, but he has been as bad as it gets when he's pressured.

Regarding the leadership thing, you might've misunderstood me but I was agreeing with you. Eason is not a leader. That's why I said that "silent leader" is an oxymoron and a stupid label since it's inherently contradictory.
