He must really be a dick because he plays a position the Eagles value, and played it pretty well. He also doesn't have a huge cap number for next season.

It's what happens when you're strapped for cash.
The averagae Joe pawns or sells shit off.
NFL teams have rummage sales.

It may be about the money, but I actually doubt it. I think it must be about his personality. His cap hit is $7 million, which they can shed by cutting him or trading him. The other possibility is that, with a bunch of DEs getting franchise tagged, they think someone might actually trade a decent pick for Michael Bennett. I doubt this personally, but that is actually what some of the beat reporters think is going on here.

Oh I'm sure his personality and dumb penalties factored into putting him on the chopping block. Even though he had slightly less penalties last year. One reason was he wasn't playing for a contract.
You can't expect to get much for him with this draft class. I'm taking one of the rookies with a 4 to 5 year cheap contract over trading for this POS.

Shame to see him go because he was the best pass rusher down the stretch. But I also know he’s kind of a dick, and the money’s a little much. And with Barnett and Sweat (though both coming off injury) and the depth D-Line in this years draft I can see the move.

I’m more head scratching at extending Semualo

$ shouldn't be an issue. Philly has Howie if you hadn't heard. They're currently making big $ deals.

Biggest asshole in the league until he's wearing your teams colors and making sacks!

Money is always an issue in this league. I have faith Howie can work his cap magic to sign and get value in FA and in trades during the season.

Do you guys still have the Combat Zone? I remember that from years ago.
No it's been gone for decades.
About the same time Kraft bought the Pats and started spending time in FL.

Too bad for Kraft. He would not have been stung in the Combat Zone.

Money's a little it much???? What's his 2019 contract ? 7 or 8 M? Isn't that low for a DE?

Haha

I’ve been out of Boston for quite some time but that entire scene was busted up LONG ago (even before I left). That land is just too valuable to be left alone.

Depends, Barnett and Sweat are cheaper, and the Birds May look to spend to bolster other spots then a positiom they feel condofenrnin.

There’s also talk that Schwartz wants Bennett to move inside more with the loss of Jernigan and Bennett doesn’t want to do it.

Just trying to come up with reasons they’re shopping him around.

The few times I used to go to Boston back in the day, the zone and Chinatown were musts. They used to walk right up to your cars in traffic, talk about sevice, like drive thru and all the sex shops before the internet with pron

GM's can sometimes kick a few mil down the road because contracts fall of the books every year on top of the Cap going up every year. The Eagles GM has done a great job over the years handling contracts and cap. They don't just kick money down the road without a plan ... it always works out and the Eagles field competitive teams most seasons. They've made the playoffs 12 out of 18 seasons since 2000. in 2020 here's some contracts that will no longer be on the books: Peters 13.2, Chris Long 5.6, St Wisniewski 3.7, Bennett 7.2 to name a few ... no worries here, when all the dust settles we'll still field a competitive team like we always do. Now, if we were one of those teams who's made the playoffs only a handful of times the past 18-20 years then yeah ... I'd have much lesser faith in what the team was doing, but again, the Eagles have a history of managing the cap very well while keeping the club in contention over the past couple of decades.
