Was having a convo about the basketball team today with an ol buddy and he says,” well its just a down year, people need to chill out and stop all this nonsense talk about Huggs leavin/firing him ect (FTR I wasnt saying that, I agree with him on hanging in there and trusting Huggs)
Because WVU will NEVER get a coach as good as Huggs”.

While I DONT want Huggs gone I DID say “what about Beilein?”

Veeeerry awkward and long silence....LOL

Huggs attitude is the same one that has created his 2nd losing record since joining the Big 12. He finished one year one game above .500.

Same attitude he used when we went to the sweet 16, same attitude he used when he went to the final 4. Kinda thought that McCabe would be the next JC. He still has 3 more years.

The rest of this year is to find out who will learn and improve for next year when we could have a really good team.

Tshibwe a five star comes in next year, Sags should be back, Culver will have a year of experience. If Huggs develops a couple of the Freshman guards, this should be a really good team.

According to 247 sports the top 10 all time commits to WVU were all signed by Huggs. Tshibwe will be #1 on that list.

Diss Huggs all you want, but he is our best chance to get WVU a NC in our lifetimes.

No surprise that I disagree with you here.

Huggs has made his reputation of being a tough coach who prefers defense over offense. He has made a great career out of doing so. I don't need to be reminded of his accomplishments.

But, he tried to create a gimmick at WVU with Press VA. He's done nothing to advance his offense over his time at WVU.

Look at Coach Beilein. The guy is a polar opposite of Huggs. Creates offensive opportunities and he sees the game through this lens. But, he needed to be tougher on defense to win a NC. So, what did he do? He hired an assistant that could bring this to his program.

Beilein's program is projecting in which direction?

We'll see how our kids look today going up against KU. If they quit again today... playing at home on national TV... there is only one person to blame.

But, I expect we'll see Bobby throw his kids under the bus... and letting us know... he'll fix it next year after he is finished dumping the trash...

You cannot win a NC without playing offense. You cannot attract next level guards with his offense. You don't win NC's without great guard play. Great guards are great because of their offense.

That is not in Bobby's DNA...

Amazing, we get pounded and run out of the gym by mediocre teams, but force Kansas into playing our game and beat them!!! I saw no quit in this game today, and maybe, just maybe some things got fixed going forward!!!

I think huggs still gets a bonus to his charity for beating Kansas.

He is getting his young players to step up. Get sags back and this could be a pretty good team.

It’s hilarious... KU lost to the worst team in the conference.

While worshiping the ground that Holgerson stood on, those two have been calling for Huggins head for years now.
847 wins and counting.
I forget, how many WVU Big 12 Championship wins are comprised in that number? NC Championships? A 40 point loss to TCU is now acceptable? Guess we all can celebrate when Huggy goes into the HOF. Wonder how many NC we’ll have by then?

Just paying them back for that football loss a few years ago. I’m surprised KU fans aren’t up in arms with Self.:boink:

Huggins isn’t going to get fired.

Too many WVU fans will look at his record of getting teams to the Sweet 16... to the Final 4... and allow him to run the program as he sees fit. WVU hasn’t enjoyed success on the court like Huggs brought to WVU since the mid 60’s.

His style of coaching is going to be a challenge. Some kids do well with it... look at Dax and JC. Some kids can’t take it... see Bender and Teddy Buckets.

This year, it looks like his kids aren’t responding to all of his antics.

But, we know... Huggs told us a few times already... he gonna fix it.
Here’s another reason why Huggy will not get fired. No Balls piggybacked off of Ollie’s contract with a contract extension in 2017 with the Emetrius status position still in place. Huggy is good through 2022 if he chooses to do so.

WVU's Bob Huggins receives 4-year contract extension

Huggins has taken WVU farther and for longer than any other coach we have ever had!!! WVU went from the late 60s to the early 80s without a sniff of the NCAAs. Huggins has a 5-10 record against the best team in the league, tell me again what Holgorsen's record against the top team was? Huggins is in his twelve year here, in his eleven years he has taken us to the NCAA tourney 9 times, going to the sweet 16 five times, and the final four once. He won the best basketball league tourney in the BE, and has finished third or better in the B12 four years in a row. He has a 13-9 record in NCAA tourney games. Let me remind you of some history, WVU has been to the final four TWICE in 115 years.......been to the sweet 16 nine times. WVU has won 29 NCAA tourney games in those 115 years, going 29-29. MORE than half of our basketball success has come under Huggins, by all means let's run him off.......He comes into the season with an unproven team, and you can see improvement as the season goes on, we generally finish the season better than expected. Had Holgorsen had anywhere near the success that Huggins has he would still be here, if he had finished second to Oklahoma the last three years, and beat them at our place more often than not, he would still be here, having earned the extensions and raises he wanted.......

I’ve called for Huggy to be fired? LOL...

I’ve NEVER made an argument for that.

Calling out fans for being a two faced hypocrite? Guilty as a motherfucker...

Some people say you need to to do that for recruiting
And how has that worked for Huggy? I guess having future HOF title hasn’t really worked too well for him. I would expect a future HOF coach could bring in some top prospects and have it popping in the Coliseum every year. At least have a Conference Championship by now.

Good history lesson. I still haven’t seen how many CC he has won at WVU let alone a NC. I expect more from a HOF HC. Why is his team unproven? They are all of his recruits. Are you saying he can’t recruit or is it his coaching style doesn’t fit the talented players. As Slaton mentioned, it seems like you’re watching a hockey game. I understand if you’re constantly pressing, but we aren’t because it appears we can’t.
