I know for SURE Wv has the hype machine behind this coach...he hasn't even had a practice yet and you would think we have won the NC already...
That’s because he said recruiting WV players IS a priority. I guess to some, it was never done before.

The Air Poo is the best especially if they are the silent type, was standing in the event center at Charles Town, getting the gifts the Casino was giving away, must have been 50-100 people drinking the open bar. let the most rotten Air Poo....... the silent type........everyone was looking around, I just started wrinkling my nose and said " God that stinks.....I think someone shit their selves they better go wipe"........ everyone started looking around at each other trying to figure out who the culprit was. I had a hell of a time not just dying laughing.

I know about Randy Moss, are there more superstars coming out of there?

And why in hell wouldn't they be recruiting the home state? OU puts a priority on keeping in state guys, not there is that many.

WVU coaches have always tried to keep the state’s best talent. Randy felt slighted by Nehlen... but he had grander ideas for himself. And, this is true for other talented WV high school targets.

This year, WV had a 5 star OT who ended up going to Tennessee. There was another OL... a 4 star... who was committed to tOSU but ended up at VT. Ryan Switzer... who is currently a Steeler... went to UNC when WVU offered him late... he was from the state capitol. A couple of years ago, an OL from WV signed with LSU.

Dana would offer kids from WV... but he wouldn’t lick their balls to get a commitment from them.

We have a HC today... who’s making it a priority to start licking him some balls...

All coaches make an attempt to keep home state talent. To say it is a priority is not a new trend in coaching. Comparing the number of “superstars” in OK to the numbers in WV is funny. WV isn’t really a football hotbed. There are probably more “superstars” in 1 county in OK than the entire state of WV.

Oklahoma usually has 2 or 3 guys that can play at OU. They dont get every one every year. The last 2 yrs there has been bad ass safety's that went to tOSU & Michigan.

The one that went to UM is the Oklahoma state rb's little brother. Family is osu alumni and HATE OU.

Sometimes guys want to leave the state for an adventure. If I was a good recruit, not taking an offer on the west coast would be tough. Surfing, skiing, outdoor heaven.

Looking at each roster, there are about 25 or so in state players. Not every kid wants to play for the in state or local school. As bb mentioned, the kid that ended up going to Tennessee was from the Huntington area, Marshall University country. His parents are Marshall alums who hate WVU. No way was he heading North in the state.

If I were a top recruit, I would head to a school were I could get a quality education, play, and provide me a good opportunity to make the League.

I was visiting my youngest today and we started talking about the basketball and football programs while glancing at the game being televised at the Iron Horse Tavern. He said he was walking down the hall the other day and noticed Neal Brown standing in the hallway. As it turns out, a football player was cutting class multiple times and Brown was waiting to see if the player was going to show. The kid was a no show and Brown placed a call. Kid showed up about 10 minutes later.

As far as Ahmad and Harris, he had heard that they were dismissed over drugs. The rumor was they were caught buying crack or heroine, but he said that everybody knew they liked their Ganga.

Brown was been all over Twitter last week showing pics of him going to visit his players at class.

I think it's most reasonable to say both Ahmad and Harris had some kind of drug related problem. Rumor my father told me yesterday was that both players attempted to get into a fight with Huggins. He then asked for the school to do a 'random drug test' on both.

Ahmad and Macon came up 'hot' on an NCAA drug test conducted during the '17 NCAA tournament. This is why Ahmad was suspended for half of last year's season. Also explains why Macon did not come back for his SR year.

Harris was on a short leash legally. He punched the TT student last year and was arrested for assault this summer when he broke someone's nose in a fight that occurred after an accident.

I'm pretty sure that coaches track attendance of their players regularly. Usually done by student managers and graduate assistants.

IMO, Brown was using this as a way to promote himself and WVU football on social media.
