Last I saw, wins on the field are what we are after? Have they changed the rules to make recruitment rankings more important than wins and losses???

My point...is that talent wins the day in the long run...and an occasional upset is not a worth litmus test..

You saw what the last guy with WV ties did. Obviously ties don't matter. I used to think that but it seems it is a major concern in the State.

The last one was a career assistant who fell into the position due to poor leadership and is STILL a fan favorite to many a WVU fans to this day even WITH his shortcomings because... WV guy ( and a very personable dude, tough NOT tonlike the guy).

IF IF if the guy is a suitable HC then great, hire him, no qualms and if he has ties to boot.. even better!

You make a valid point... OU has dominated us in terms of wins on the field. But, you said OU was light years ahead of us while we’re on par with UT.

We’ve enjoyed success against UT because of the disparity in coaching. You have to admit UT’s talent level is light years ahead of us.

OU enjoys the same talent disaparity. They’ve enjoyed at least 4 lopsided wins over us. But, we’ve had two games go back and forth with lead changes... they came down to 1 point losses. Another game was close too.

We have done better against Texas than expected. Holgs outcoached OU also on occasion, but never had the Defense, or D coaching to get over the top. How many times did someone put up 50 or more points on us in the past few years.

Sad reality...

WVU averaged 42 points/gm heading into the bowl game. And, we lost 3 games when doing so.
