This is going to be both interesting and important for Seahawks fans. Some of the options have already been brought up. Harbaugh, Ben Johnson, Dan Quinn, Mike Vrabel. Some other candidates were discussed in this article:

Frank Smith OC Dolphins, Brian Callahan OC Bengals, Dave Canales OC Bucs (was on Pete's staff for a long while). The article gives their background. Some other possiblies:

Kellen Moore OC Chargers
Eric Bieniemy OC Commandors
Drew Petzing OC Cardinals
Ken Dorsey OC Bills
Bobby Slowik OC Texans
Mike Macdonald DC Ravens
Raheem Morris DC LA Rams
Steve Wilks DC 49ers

College coaches:

Lincoln Riley USC
Kirby Smart Georgia
Ryan Day Ohio
Matt Campbell Iowa

Now some here want a offensive minded HC, but it's the defense that needs the most help it seems. Thoughts?

I know I'm in the minority but I would 100% enjoy Lane Kiffen here.

No chance Kirby is coming to the NFL right now

My preferences would be in no particular order

Mike Vrabel - Proven capable NFL coach. Ownership kinda screwed him
Mike MacDonald - Great college DC. Great pro DC. Hire him and get an up and coming OC or maybe even keep Waldron
Lincoln Riley - Top flight offensive mind.
Dan Quinn - Proven coach. Sound defensive mind.
Ben Johnson - Wildcard. Might be too early for him. High risk/high reward choice.

Pass on anyone with links to carroll, go for ben johnson or another up and coming OC and match him with a strong vet DC. Maybe vrabel if he doesnt get a HC offer.

I'll just go ahead and stop watching the team if they hire Kellen Moore, Eric Bieniemy, or Ken Dorsey. I don't know what the hell these guys have done to make anybody think they should be a head coach.

I can't imagine any of those three are seriously being considered.

Early on preference which is subject to change.

1) Ben Johnson Lions He's the hot hire, so a long shot for the Seahawks. Everyone loves what he has done with the Lions offense and Goff.
2) Frank Smith Dolphins. Dolphins offense has all that movement to create good match ups and openings. How much credit does the OC get over the HC is the question.
3) Bobby Slowik Texans Got to give him some credit with the Texans turn around with a rookie QB

I want someone that can help develop a rookie QB, so those three seem like good candidates to do that. However if the Seahawks miss out on these guys.
4) Mike Macdonald Ravens Got to like the work he has done with the defense.
5) Mike Vrabel Ex Texans I'm a little leery of him given his head butting with the GMs
6) Dan Quinn Cowboys. Doesn't excite me TBH but seems like a solid coach.

I don't keep up with college stuff like I once did, so why won't he come to the NFL right now? Money, contract?

He has a great gig at Athens. They are the favorites to win the title again next year.

OK but I image any college coach being considered for the NFL has a good college gig.

Yeah he's holding onto his job as OC by a thread. This is worrisome, why would they interview him is beyond me.

I wouldn't really worry about it. They are likely to interview a lot of people and several of the people they want to interview can't be interviewed untill next week
