My opinion will be a bit biased but I agree with what UW fans are saying to a degree. The rankings are biased as well. I know, record, strength of schedule, margin of victory etc all come into play but human beings decide who they think are #1,#2,#3 etc....which means there is biased involved.

That said, I’m not sure UW deserves a top 5 spot. Mainly due to the Quality at the QB position. He Is the weak link on the team. We all know about their schedule but they all have played cup cakes this year. I don’t know about the the other top four teams but UW has had a lot of injuries to deal with on both sides of the ball but still find a way to win. I give a lot of credit to HC Chryst for keeping this team competitive. So far, the defense has been outstanding and if they can play the same against Ohio State I would consider them legit.

UCF is 5th in total offense. Wisconsin is 44th.
UCF is 51st in total defense. Wisconsin is 2nd.

Kinda cancels each other out.

Not really, a good defense usually beats a good offense.

All of those teams have schedule problems except for Miami right now. Bama hasn't played anyone, Wisconsin hasn't played anyone and UCF has played decent teams but in a non-power 5 conference so they will get NO credit whatsoever. So if I had to rank them I'd go with:

Your "decent teams" that UCF has played have a combined record of 45-51. Thats not counting Austin Peay...

Wisconsins is 59-63 in a far tougher conference. Didnt even bother looking at bamas.


UCF is a good team. Fact is theyd have a minimum of 3 losses in any P5.

The beat a decent Memphis ranked in the top 20 and beat Navy by 10 which Notre Dame beat by 7. I think they could beat Notre Dame for sure and at the very least would beat Miss St. who is some how magically in front of them.

Not sure. What G5 teams would run into in P5 conferences is real defense. That takes a toll. Personally I dont think they would beat ND but meh.


You'll get teams like UCF/BSU etc that rant and rave how great they are because of transitive properties and that they might beat a decent P5 in a bowl game, but they didnt go through the meat grinder of a P5 schedule.

Too bad their GT game was cancelled that would've been a nice win and I believe they would've been close to the top ten with that win. In reality with all the non p5 teams they play (some of them still really good) they would need 3 ranked wins vs P5 schools to have a chance. Unfortunately their future schedules have them vs bottom feeders to average teams in the ACC and one good Stanford team. They would probably have to join the ACC to ever have a shot.

It was quite obvious. They required TO's to beat garbage teams and they played their best game of the year vs an overrated Notre Dame team then all of a sudden the dumb committee thought they were good. They're the poor man's version of the 2015 Iowa team.
