BBQ north of the Red River sucks
BBQ south of the Rio Grande will give you the squirts.
BBQ east of the Sabine River is like watery ketchup

My grandparents were from Russia. I went there last summer for the first time. The people are friendly but don't get mixed up with the govt. They are real sons of bitches. Food was good.

Where in Russia? My family is from Yaroslavl. It's about a 4 hour taxi ride north of Moscow.

I try to visit once a year.

Some place outside of St Petersburg. They told me they didn't think it was a city, so not sure. They both left in 1915. Soldiers came looking for my Grandmothers 7 brothers for the Army in 1914. They all hid in a hideout in the barn. They took my Great-grandmother and she was never seen again. The rest all escaped on foot and horse and made it to Genoa, Italy where they boarded a ship for the US. My grandmother met my grandfather on the ship and they married in 1915 in NYC.

Holy smokes man. That's one hell of a story.

I have been to St. Petersburg, and I can say it's an amazing city.

I was there last summer. Much better than Moscow.

Here's another part to their story. Before they left whatever village they came from, word circulated as to what happened to Jewish soldiers in the Russian Army. There was no real training for them. They didn't even have a rifle for them. They were told to go into combat and pick up the rifle of a dead Russian soldier during combat.

How's that for morale building?

That's pretty crazy. I lived in Yaroslavl for a little over a year.

Dad lived there for 5 years.

Moscow is cool, Red Square and Lenin's Tomb are unreal.

My wife is in a wheelchair. We got trapped in the Kremlin this summer because you can't take a wheelchair down 16 steps. This was right near the Armory and near the entrance. The guard wouldn't let us take the road to outside, because Putin was due to return through that road any minute.

The "any minute" turned out to be over an hour. I tried to bribe the guard, but couldn't get close to him because he kept shouting and had a gun. So we waited.

The entrance of Putin was like a circus. Putin's car had a giant red light constantly flashing around it. 5 or 6 cars surrounded Putin's car, driving as close as they do in Nascar. We actually saw Putin in the car.

After that, they let us out.

Yeah, because smoking meat is such a hard thing to do.

Do you cook much BBQ? It's kind of hard to fuck up.

^trying to be a food snob, but has yet to say a single thing of substance. Smoking = cooking, and if you have a problem with that, blow me.

Try reading the thread. Everyone else is in here talking about the different things we do, you just come in talking stupid shit.

South Carolina is the only state that is home to all four types of BBQ sauce.

5WoNvjY.jpg

This map is complete nonsense. I hail from an area within the ketchup portion, and I can tell you that absolutely no one eats ketchup based sauce there. They go with either vinegar or mustard. So no, I don't think SC is the only state home to all four types of BBQ sauce (also there's more than 4 kinds, Alabama has a white, there's Kansas City Style, there's a basting sauce in Texas, etc.). I could see it being more accurate if you made the tomato portion a little smaller, cut out the ketchup portion, and expanded both the vinegar and mustard regions. But this is just misinformation.
