Assume you mean New York flat out released him...

Packers have $40M dead cap hit this year on books, nothing carries over to 2024.... nothing Packers due now impacts Jets salary cap.

The dead cap accelerates to a current cap hit if they released him, meaning they'd have to free up cap to release him. If he retired you'd arbitrage the signing bonus (still gets accelerated) and future year base salary + option/roster bonus is waived.

Correct... but I assume you mean New York, you wrote Green Bay.

If Green Bay just flat out released him, then yes everything accelerates for the signing bonus.

Oh derp. Yes that would be an error, 100% talking about his situation with New York. Thanks for the correction (even though I can't edit).

No chance.

They just honored him last Sunday in NE. If he went to the Jets? They would consider that treason.

Not to mention, he is a minority owner with the Raiders. The owners would have to vote on it and how do you think they would vote?

Kraft wouldn't. Fans, yeah some will, some won't.

Bortles has been mentioned as a possibility to fill out the depth chart. Most of his years in Jacksonville were with Hackett as his OC.

If Minny loses a couple more and appears to be going nowhere, do they make a pitch for Cousins? Would Minny consider that, given this is the last year of his deal?
