Do they try and resurrect TB12?
No chance.

They just honored him last Sunday in NE. If he went to the Jets? They would consider that treason.

Not to mention, he is a minority owner with the Raiders. The owners would have to vote on it and how do you think they would vote?

washington won,t trade bissett so you can forget that, heinke will never work in ny,so i bet they sign flacco since he already knows the offense
Except Flacco doesn't know the offense. Hackett is a 1st year OC in NY.

Best options for the Jets imo ( being realistic )

A. Stick with Wilson
B. Trade for Winston
C. Sign Wentz
D. Trade for Heinicke
E. Trade for Brissett .

Which of these 5 make the most sense in your opinion
F. Matt Ryan

No idea.

But pretty much anything can happen.

And Coach Saleh agrees with you, even if most Jets fans do not want that to happen.
He has to agree right now.

When another teams seasons goes south and there is a starting option to trade for, he can “be excited” for that guys opportunity, after they’ve already traded for him.

Wilson already knowing the offense and being part of the team makes him a better option right now over someone else’s backup. Or anyone that’s currently out of football.

At this point stick with Wilson as there isn't any better options and Wilson didn't play that poorly

With Rodgers out, does his salary still count in the cap calculation?

That could make guys like Foles or Fitzmagic very attractive.

Yes.

Injured players (this includes IR/PUP, etc.) count against the salary cap. The one relief item you are granted is that they do not count against the 53 man roster.

There are two other key items to note:

1) NFL players may be 'exempt' from the salary cap but that can only be approved by the commissioner and is for unusual circumstances. Most notable was Michael Vick... because of criminal charges was placed on the exempt list and did not count against the cap.

2) If a player retires (which Rodgers may after this year) the team is exempt from base salary and roster bonus for cap, but still has to absorb any signing bonus although the team can choose to arbitrate to re-coup the signing bonus (i.e Rodgers has to pay it back).

Rodgers is only a $9M cap hit this season, so unless he retires, it's not that big of a concern (and he's not going to retire now lol.. why would you? Get the free medical benefits). If Green Bay just flat out released him, then yes everything accelerates for the signing bonus. That would obviously screw the Jets over and be impossible.

plus...he's been in camp and knows the offense.

this time last season, it was Dallas. Cooper who? Rush beat the SB runner ups the next game on his way to 4-1 to keep Dallas in contention.

Very true... He has a lot better command of the offense

Foles would be my selection to bring in. Hey...if they thought Rodgers could throw behind that offensive pass blocking. Foles couldn't be worse. Foles needs a couple of weeks. Wilson might or might not show what they need and Foles should be up to speed by then.

the jets oline showed strong run game. I'd sure pound this coming week.
