Jay Cutler beat Seattle and had the highest Qb rating in Qwest field history

When is not what I`m looking .....But the better answer is,"who cares"

Jay "the best Bear qb ever and better than our only HOF qb" Cutler the world record holder...........
And what trophy does he get for that?

The only thing he deserves is being on the long list of unsuccessful qbs we`ve had......

SEATTLE — After another slow start and fast

finish, this one by a 25-19 score over the Seahawks, the Bears are starting to look like the tortoises of the NFL.

Except they keep winning plays with the speed
icon1.png
of a hare.

This time, it was Johnny Knox and Devin Hester taking short passes from Jay Cutler and running away from defenders for second-half touchdowns.

The Seahawks took a 13-0 lead in a disastrous first 18 minutes or so for the visitors. In that time, Robbie Gould missed a field goal, Cutler threw a high pass that Knox tipped to Seahawks linebacker David Hawthorne for a red-zone interception and the Bears were flagged four times.

Their offense was completely out of sync, in part
icon1.png
because the fans at Qwest Field had the volume turned up somewhere between rock concert
lb_icon1.png
and jackhammer.

Asked about the slow start, Cutler said, "It's loud. This is a tough place to play. ... The crowd really gets into it, and the defense feeds off it."

The Bears were called for three false starts, all in the first half. Since 2005, visitors at Qwest Field have been called for false starts 85 times -- the most in the NFL.

"This crowd noise is the loudest in the NFL by far," Bears defensive end Adewale Ogunleye said. "Nowhere else is even close."

But once the Bears were immersed in the caldron for a while, they got used to the heat.

They got on the board on a 1-yard touchdown pass to tight end Greg Olsen from Cutler just after the two-minute warning before halftime.

They came out of the locker room after halftime looking like a different team. The Bears came up with two takeaways in less than seven minutes and subsequently scored 10 points.

"Our hats off to our defense for creating turnovers, holding them on key plays, holding them to field goals and bad field position," Olsen said. "They played really well."

On the first series of the third quarter, Charles Tillman stripped wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Ogunleye recovered on the Seahawks' 40-yard line. Danieal Manning was credited with the strip but said after the game that Tillman had forced the fumble.

Five plays later, Cutler threw a short pass to Knox, who swerved past one defender and then dove for the end zone pylon for a 7-yard touchdown.

A Lance Briggs interception then set up a 37-yard Gould field goal.

But the plucky Seahawks came back with two Olindo Mare field goals to take a 19-17 lead with 5:12 remaining in the game.

Cutler answered with his second fourth-quarter, game-winning drive
lb_icon1.png
in as many weeks.

This one was made easy by a nice grab of a short throw by Devin Hester, who left Seahawks defenders Travis Fisher and Deon Grant on the ground as he zipped into the end zone for a 36-yard touchdown.

"I pride myself in that," Cutler said of coming through in crunch time. "I want the ball in those situations.

"Fourth quarters we have to play our best, and I think we are right now."

The Seahawks fought until the end, finally running out of gas on an incomplete pass on fourth-and-2 at the Bears' 29 with 26 seconds left. And they still could have been in it if Mare had not missed field goals of 43 and 34 yards
icon1.png
.

But the Bears clearly wore down a team that started the game missing eight injured starters, including quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, and finished the game with 10 out.

Seneca Wallace filled in nicely for Hasselbeck, using his mobility to avoid a fierce pass rush and to buy many second chances. He finished 26 of 44 for 261 yards.

Cutler finished with more impressive numbers -- 21 of 27 for 247 yards. His passer rating for the day was 126.4.

And the offense really was all about him, as it has been all season. The Bears had only 85 rushing yards on 28 carries.

"You have to take what they are giving you, and that's what we're going to do," Bears coach Lovie Smith said.

"There's nothing wrong with the pass. I'd like to be known as a running team that can pass the ball."

All things considered, the Bears might have made this one more difficult than it should have been. But then again, a win is a win.

"It's huge," said linebacker Nick Roach, who moved from the strong side to the middle after Hunter Hillenmeyer was injured.

"It's huge at any time, coming far away from home, being down at one point and then being able to be on top in the end. It's just huge."

Good for him. We should give him a raise.

Who just beat the defending Super Bowl champs the week before… right. Divisional playoffs, totally a meaningless game. Give me a break. The guy just can't win. My lord.

Reaching richig. That Seattle team wasn't that good.

Interestingly, that Seattle team only managed to win two road games all season. One of which was the regular season game at solider field!

Jay cutler equals Erik Kramer.......A qb we had our hopes pinned high for, just to end up being an average qb.

Even Kramer rewrote the poor bear quarterback record books lol

Reaching richig. That Seattle team wasn't that good.

It's just the fact that the guy played an absolutely FLAWLESS playoff game, en route to a blowout. When the pressure was absolutely on him to perform in his first post-season appearance. I mean, what do you want from the guy?

He had some very big performances that year, that undoubtedly put the Bears in the position they were in (division champs and first round bye). He played probably three of the best games we've seen from Bears quarterbacks. He led them to big wins over an Eagles team, that couldn't lose under an MVP season from Micheal Vick. Throwing 4 TD's and 0 INT's. He also edged out the New York Jets, one of the league's best defenses 38-34 in a strange shootout, where the Bears D just failed to show up for whatever reason against a pedestrian Mark Sanchez led offense. Then, you have the playoff victory. He was fantastic down the stretch of that season.

Then in 2011, the success carried over into his 2nd year under Martz. When he got hurt, the Bears were catching fire. They had won 5 in a row, and had managed (I believe) over 30 points in each win. They were going into a stretch of games versus the AFC West which at that point had all four teams at .500 or worse. They lost those games under Hanie by the likes of 13-10 and 10-6… etc... Is there any doubt they reach the playoffs with Jay?

I'm off the Cutler wagon, and I've officially been that way since the Carolina game last season. However, I do still like the guy and root for him. I can't remember a guy who has been treated more unfairly by Chicago (up until last season, when he deserved it).

The way Bears fans talk about this guy, you'd think he was a stumbling drooling idiot on the field that curls into a ball and pisses himself upon the ball being snapped. He went through a lot of shit here, and could have easily pointed the finger publicly at others and did not. He kept his head down through the criticism and for the most part, played very good football (once again, up until last season).

No....No they were not.
But they were higher than most of the qbs as in Walsh,Krenzel, mirer,Miller just to name a few.....

And at the time when we picked him up from Detroit,we all thought we had a good qb that we have not had in awhile.

and then to let us down......Just like our qb of today.
when we traded for Cutler,i was ecstatic.i though we had a franchise qb that we could count on for years. It has not happened.
Sorry but he has not even sniffed the expectations that any Bear fan has hoped for......

What were those expectations? After YEARS and years of Rex Grossmans, the abysmal Kyle Orton, Cade McNown, And all the others- NO QB had started a full 16 game season for *10+ years (I think maybe Jim Miller had ONE season) ... Could it just be that those expectations were a bit out of reach for anyone?
Could it be that Bears fans are programed to hate the QB? OR better yet- "love" the backup? Yep. The first year wasn't great w/his picks. Then a couple of injury shortened seasons. I'll never understand the boo's and hatred of a guy who simply plays- It'd be one thing if he was a bad guy or beat up his wife or got in trouble with the law. But to write and bitch EVERY time his name in mentioned is sad/sick.
There will never be a "franchise" QB in Chicago. Never. The fan base won't let it happen.
