Rinne is not up to the task, it's time to put in Rask.

Fun fact:

11 of the last 13 #1 overall picks are playing in this tournament

The two that aren't?

Hall and Yakupov

Can't argue with him having a bad day, but I think you're in the minority if you would take Cory Schneider over J. Quick.

One is a former ROY, 2 time Stanley Cup Champion and Conn Smyth winner, Jennings Trophy winner and multiple time All Star.

The other is pretty much a career back up although he did get his name on the Jennings as a backup to Loungo in Vancouver.
Schneider's stats are better than Quick's in nearly every department and he has never played his hockey behind anything resembling the talent LA has.

He's the same age as Quick and has played 220 fewer games. There's a reason for that.
Yeah, it's called asset mismanagement. Not sure if you've noticed but the Canucks have become kinda great at that.

What does having a late start to your success have anything to do with how good of a goaler you are at present? You sang Thomas' praises earlier in the thread. You wanna take a stab at how old Thomas was before anybody even knew who he was? Or how many more it took before his team started making noise in the 'offs?

Bouwmester seems misplaced on this team...but not that it matters much when you're loaded.
Thank Babcock and his entire philosophy regarding defence. Much as I like the guy over the piles of trash the Leafs have had behind the bench over the years there is a reason guys named Matt Hunwick and Roman Polak are currently on the Leaf roster and it makes sense to Babs and pretty much nobody else.

If Canada flames out of this tournament there's going to be a lot of fingers pointing his way.

Just catching up on the weekend.

Did anyone see Borje Salming in the crowd at the RUS-SWE game?

Or is my teenage fanboy hallucinating again? Coulda swore they cut to him for a second.

Not sure what I am reading, but looks like McJesus went to crap in those 35 seconds without Auston.
It was also his 19th bday on Saturday. If he celebrated becoming legal drinking age hard and then went out and played damn fine last night then he pretty much just became the most celebrated sports figure in Toronto history.

So Jones and Murray are better at CFing than McJesus and Eichel?

Woo?
Got the ol' Matthews bump. Sure beats the Dubinsky ground-n-pound.

Geez, I wish I could have paid $6 for my Finland - Belarus ticket at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.
