From the coaches handbook of every game matters. The Panthers and Islanders are tied for regulation wins (1st tiebreaker). The next tiebreaker is regulation and OT wins and they are still tied. The third tiebreaker is head to head. The Panthers beat the Islanders the first game of the regular season and thus hold the head to head advantage. Who would have thought the first game of the year could hold so much weight

he said nothing wrong. even if it was heat of the moment or a well thought out statement. I am happy for him that he is in that position and the only people that should take that personally is the ownership and that is because they deserve it

When a guy comes to a team after signing a big contract and plays poorly/sulks and then asks to be traded, gets traded and then craps on the team that traded him, that's a totally different situation. Horvat was a class act and a very good player/captain for Vancouver and played on some let's be honest pretty terrible teams. Why shouldn't he be jazzed about a chance to play in the post-season?

I was watching the Rangers game and I did not realize that buffalo can sneak into the playoffs if they win all of their remaining games and isles, pens and panthers lose enough of theirs
