Did bama agree to the game before the opponent was known? How you get screwed by chick-fil-a people?Yeah, our schedule is always back loaded. Getting screwed over by the people that organize the Chik-Fil-A game hurt our SOS this year. But the H&Hs are coming and I’m looking forward to them
My guess is no bad losses, a fringe top 25 win. They have to rank 25 teams so 6-2 in a P5 with those results will almost always be ranked
Probably . Still is what it is though. Helps that iowa didnt get their doors blown off in their losses as wellYou know what the difference is between Texas A&M and Iowa...Texas A&M played Alabama, Clemson and Auburn, while Iowa played Iowa State, Michigan and Penn St.
And the Hawkeyes beat Iowa State. They deserve some credit for that.Probably . Still is what it is though. Helps that iowa didnt get their doors blown off in their losses as well

Theres not much difference between teams in the mid teens to teams in the high 30s or so in the rankings. However that doesnt change the fact that a win over number 19 on the road is still considered a better win than a win over an unranked team .And the Hawkeyes beat Iowa State. I don't think the pre-game ranking (pre-season guess) is relevant, but I do think Iowa deserves more credit for beating a good @ Iowa State team than many want to admit. For example, using the teams in this example, and ISU win would have made the Cyclones (6-2) like Auburn (6-2) and Iowa (5-3) like Texas A&M (5-3). Just by definition, Iowa should be credited for winning against one of the 3 good teams they played instead of losing all 3. Ergo, Iowa is more accomplished than Texas A&M - which has only proven that they can lose to good teams - while Iowa has proven they can beat one on the road.Theres not much difference between teams in the mid teens to teams in the high 30s or so in the rankings. And frankly A&M hasht been competitive in any of their losses . They scored late garbage TDs in all 3 and still lost by 14, 19 and 8. But still the difference between the 2 isnt huge although jowa would be favored by 5 or so on a neutral field ( per the Vegas top 25 rankings ).I don't think the pre-game ranking (pre-season guess) is relevant, but I do think Iowa deserves more credit for beating a good @ Iowa State team than many want to admit. Yeah, I'm thinking it was just a clunker as well. But if someone thinks it was an egg, I can live with that too. Unfortunately, there have been several eggs laid in the CFP...mainly in the semis. FSU in '14, Both semis in '15 OU and MSU, both semis in '16 Washington and tOSU, Notre Dame in '18.I don't. They had to beat the Big Xii Champion with the Heisman Winner to get to the Final, and the team that beat them down is Clemson (with which they are alternating victories) and became the first Major team to go 15-0 with the win. So, no egg IMO - just a bad day at the office.
Yes. The original opponent was suppose to be Someone else but they backed out and the game organizers stuck us with Duke. Supposedly it pissed Saban off pretty goodDid bama agree to the game before the opponent was known? How you get screwed by chick-fil-a people?

A quality ACC opponent could really only be Clemson lolI believe we committed to a "quality" ACC opponent. We had a different opinion of what "quality" was with the Jesus Chicken people. The current home and home bend seems to be a result of that and the Louisville matchup.
Hard to pinpoint a "quality" acc opponent in advance these days lol. We got unc next yearI believe we committed to a "quality" ACC opponent. An A&M likely loses to all 3 if they had played ISU, Michigan and Penn State.
