I believe the thunder have some serious amount of cap space to make it workable without matching dollar for dollar

The Thunder are 22M over the cap including cap holds, but that drops quickly once they renounce Hayward (and likely all of their FA). Missed the cap holds the first time around.

Booker is tradeable...Beal is not with that contract and being significantly older
I know, I'm saying the owner wont trade him and some fans saying you can't give up on a 27 year old

I'm saying they should.

One challenge is all of the pick swaps they did, so if they're non competitive, their lottery picks go to other teams

Yeah they won’t be a tax payer at the deadline

I doubt the recent owner is ready to rebuild already.
Maybe not, so he can just stay stuck in the middle and not win anything or get lottery picks

The KD Warriors were as superstarry as it's possible to be, and they played a beautiful version of team basketball on both sides of the ball.

You don't know what you're talking about.

Are you even following what we are talking about because it seems to me that you are just jumping in the middle of it. The topic was star players carrying teams vs playing as a team what are you even talking about?

Pretty sure that his point is that a superstar laden team can play team basketball.

It helps when guys like klay don’t need the ball until it’s time to shoot
Indeed, and that your DPOY level PF/C can run point and the stars are all unselfish and your coach creates a pass crazy motion offense. The pieces fitting so well is a big reason why that team was one of the greatest ever assembled.

Also they won a single title. Can’t put them with the 85 Lakers or 86 Celtics or 17 Warriors

I mean comparing teams is a single season thing

But yes it’s unfortunate kg has that career ending knee injury

He was never the same after that injury in 09!

That’s fair. Have to think about that but the teams I mentioned all seem a little better

The Celtics mastered load management

But it took teams a few years longer to catch on

It didn’t really become a thing until after San Antonio beat Miami

I agree.

The pieces change from season to season.

Nobody talking about 2018 Warriors as the GOAT team.

I would say the second title tends to validate the first and is usually needed in these debates.

But I agree in general that how good a team is the year prior or the year after doesn’t really have a lot to do with how good they were in 1 specific season.

Celtics only had one season of fully healthy Kg so you’re comparing apples to sheet metal after that
