Julio made a couple of amazing catches for sure, but he was limited to 4 receptions for 87 yards. Edelman also accounted for 87 yards on 5 catches including the highlight reel circus job in the 4th quarter.

I'm not seeing any advantage here.
Thing about the Edelman catch is that it was crucial at that point in the game. MVC. Most Valuable Catch.

Too bed fair he did drop some easy ones.... But he came up when it mattered the most
I was going to mention that. Amazing how someone with his talent dropped one right in his bread basket (nightmares of Reche Caldwell) yet makes a friggen crazy catch like that. Again just proving it's a game of inches. So many things need to go right during a season to win a SB.

Of all time.

3rd

Tyree, Paul Richardson( the one in the Wildcard game where he was being interfered with but still has the td)

Kearse, Jones toe tapping

That is my top 5

Yeah he really botched some easy ones... He probably was hearing the footsteps coming for him but he normally catches those. But with all said and done, it doesn't matter the drops.... Only the catches when a team wins!

It ranks up there no doubt. It's a shame that the Falcons pissed away Julio Jones making the catch of the year though. Now an incredible catch will largely be forgotten.
I underrated him. He's the best in the game. That was amazing.

He had another one over the middle too. Overall, Rowe and Ryan actually did a pretty good job. He just made two amazing catches.

To be fair so was Julio's sideline amazing grab! He doesn't catch that and the Falcons truly don't have a catch to "ice" the Pats up 8

Ring - Edelman.....

All week I kept hearing how they were just going to let Jones quietly do his thing. And he did, and he didn't beat them, just like they said....

Julian's catch had a greater impact on the outcome of game than Julio's. If your personal determination of greatness is the situation and not the actual catch, then that's where our perspectives differ.

It was about time Pats got a miracle catch.

Tyree, Kearse. Finally Edelman.
There was a curse brewing there for a while. Good thing Edelman made that catch....reverse it early.

Oh brother, I was actually enjoying the butt-whooping, I mean you only get beat like that rarely. And they turned it around. I'm still like in semi shock.

Edelman's catch was every bit as spectacular as Julio's final reception. You want to ascribe to it to luck that's OK with me.

Pats D did what most of us predicted. Controlled JJ and contained the RBs. It didn't look that way from the start but Matt Patricia and the D did what they did all year. Keep teams from scoring more then the NE offense. 21 points to the most prolific offense ever. Well done D you deserve more credit for this win.

Please explain your perspective on this.

a milometer to the right and his toe goes out of bounds
ball under thrown just slightly and it gets picked

etc.....

Not saying it was all luck. Julian's took exceptional concentration and body control, just like Julio's. Difference to me is that Julian would not have been able to secure the catch if a leg was not underneath the ball. That element of luck dilutes the 'amazingness' to me.

It was a huge catch at a critical part of the game but I have to give the nod to Julio's sideline catch. Edelman had 2 lucky things, the first deflection that went right to him and of course the defender's arm right under where the ball ended up preventing it from hitting the ground. It was spectacular, not taking anything away, but the Jones catch was ever more so, did not require any luck, and should have won the Super Bowl if Kyle Shannahan didn't have his head up his ass.

To me, that precision is what makes it so amazing.
