I think both of them are going to make good improvements

especially Colorado their coach is one of the most underrated in the country.

Colorado is so talent deprived it's sad. They're a massive overhaul project IMO. It's hard to win games when the other teams in your conference have backups better than half your starters.

Anybody voting for any conference other than the SEC is either in complete denial, or is a blind homer.

The Big 10 is 14-15 against the Pac12 the last 5 years including a 2-2 record in the Rose Bowl. Yet somehow we are getting some grand push that the Pac 12 is at or above the level.of the SEC?

The Pac is deep, Stanford and Oregon have shown they're here to stay. If usc can come back, and maybe ucla or Az state make a push, the PAC will be fine. The Big 12 to me is a year or two behind the pac, Okie state and baylor have to show they're here to stay like Oregon and Stanford. Texas and OU coming back would help, same way usc coming back would help the pac.

I only went back to 2003 and stopped there, but since then the Pac is 38-24 against the Big 10 (6-2 in Rose Bowls) and 15-16 against the SEC.

They need more OOC match ups with the SEC. This year the Pac has zero scheduled with them.

I am traveling now and can't look up a lot of these matchups. OSU beating a terrible Cal team doesn't do much for me when it comes to comparing conferences. UCLA winning at Nebraska is a better gauge, as those teams are more closely aligned

Yep, and Michigan State beat the Pac 12 conference champ last year.

What was the marquee win for the Pac 12 last year? Was it Wisconsin or Notre Dame? And didn't the 2 teams that played in the conference championship game lose their bowl games?

Sure, the 6-3 bowl record looks impressive till you see that 4 of the wins came against non Power 5 teams.

If you want to complain about Cal losing to Ohio state, how about Minnesota losing to USC? There is a good amount of crossover of the Pac12 and Big 10 games the last 5 years to even remotely believe it was one conference cherry picking on the other conferences littlins. Add in the Big playing the Rose in California, and there is advantage in the premier bowl game location for the conferences.

The Rose Bowl in California only gives an advantage to maybe 2 of the 12 schools.

And if last year's Rose Bowl were played in Indianapolis, Michigan State would have received no advantage in where that game was played?

No, the allotment of tickets are split 50/50. If Stanford doesn't travel well, then that's their fault.

It's very dangerous to pull one stat and use it for anything, and even more dangerous to look at head-to-head records and assume they are conclusive. Does the fact that Ohio State beat Cal twice really tell us anything in respect to conference strength, given that Ohio State went 8-0 in conference in both years and Cal went 2-7 and 0-9 respectively? The Big Ten got 9 wins against PAC-12 teams when their team had a better conference winning percentage, meaning most results were "as expected".

I get your point of view, though, as the PAC-12 has fallen off in recent years and unless they turn that around, the SEC will be better.

I am a Big Ten guy as I grew up in the Midwest, but I am also realistic. I don't think you're being realistic. There are only three quality teams in the conference at this time: OSU, MSU and Wisc. The others remain to be seen.

There is reason to believe Iowa, PSU, or Minnesota may be good this year, based on the performances of last year. They enter the 2014 season as less than quality teams, but with the potential of becoming a quality team. Each of them will have to improve significantly for that to happen however, and I hope they do.... As for Mich, they will have to have a huge culture shift to be a quality team this year. They really had problems being unified last year. If they can resolve their internal problems and Hoke coaches well (I'm not sure he is capable of that), they may be a quality team. They have a lot of work to do for that to happen, however.

Here's to the hope that the Big Ten will have 4 quality teams by years end...cheers.

Everyone voted for their own conference.

Seems legit.
