This was the season 6-6 Iowa faced 9-3 Texas in the Alamo. I had to miss that game because I had to work.

Why are Oregon fans so ignorant about college football? I mean even Texas 2010 class which was terrible by normal Texas standards isn't even close to some of the crap I just posted from other schools. Some multiple times too. But, good old Mamba and boys love to throw us under the bus as the most terrible football program going. It's kinda funny sometimes...

So your standards are so high that the #2 class is "terrible" by them, and you wonder why you are in the conversations for least with the most?

The following schools had at least 2 top 10 classes finish worse than the 2010 Texas class for 4 year records.

Tennessee 2005, 2007, 2009, and 2010
Miami 2005 and 2008
Notre Dame 2006, 2007, and 2008
Michigan 2006, 2007, and 2008
UCLA 2009 and 2010

So this despicable Texas class that makes Texas as a program the worst thing ever has been topped at least twice by 5 different schools since 2002. So yea, I don't think we belong in this conversation right now. Georgia doesn't either. Notre Dame is probably the only school being mentioned over and over again who has earned that reputation the last 10 years or so. Mack Brown stayed too long but even at his worse he wasn't as bad as some coaches have been at major college football powers as witnessed by the 5 schools above who are all recruiting powers in college football with easy brands to sell just like Texas.

I understand why you feel that way, and I hope you understand why everyone not associated with Texas disagrees with your feelings.

Fordman, for comparisons to drive my point home, your school is running with momentum right now in Texas and has 5 fewer losses than Texas from 2010-2013. Texas is doing a terrible job with PR right now and things aren't near as bad for them and as good for others as is being driven by the current narrative.

Texas A&M 36-16
Baylor 36-16
TCU 35-16
Texas 30-21
Texas Tech 29-22

The Texas schools playing in power 5 conferences are one big jumbled mess right now and you would think Baylor, Tech, and A&M are on dominating runs judging by their 2015 recruiting. Charlie Strong has got to change the narrative across the country and in this state. Perception is not currently reality.

I have no problem with disagreeing, all I ask is for you to bring facts instead of biases. Use facts to prove Texas is the most underachieving program in college football that trumps the facts I just showed. If you can't or don't care to, then I will shut up and realize you aren't trying to have a real discussion. I've got no problem with a little trolling of a rival. It thats what this is, than cool.

Let's be real, since the NC loss Texas has been a train wreck. There is a reason Strong was hired. Even under Mack there are 2 NC games, but a disturbing 2 conference titles. It's a proud tradition at Texas, but the last few years there is no doubt that Texas has done little with more. It all depends on your time frame. Using 5 years, than Texas fits the thread. Go a little farther out and you need to talk about Michigan and Tennessee

Using 5 years Texas was playing Bama for the national title...

Texas has underachieved greatly the last 4 years no doubt, but even then it hasn't been as bad as some schools have experienced. We are just spoiled as fans. Are own bitching and moaning about Mack Brown and the shape of the program actually did harm to our own perception across the nation. I'm ready to start building our program back up instead of focusing on our recent shortfalls. Don't think for a second that pride and excitement within our own fan bases doesn't have an effect on recruiting. People want to know they are going somewhere they will be appreciated by the fans. Our current players are constantly complaining about the lack of fan support. It's time to turn that back around. A topic like this I don't even have to put a spin on to defend our program. It's blatantly a false accusation that Texas is the place players go to underachieve more so than any other program. Even during our worst period under Mack Brown it just wasn't or isn't true.
