Least with the most: Notre Dame and Texas in that order.

Most with the least:lot of candidates. Boise has to be up there, Northern Illinois has a place in the discussion, ULL the last few years but they haven't really beaten any of the big boys but are worth mentioning.

Michigan State and Wisconsin come to mind, when I think of most with least.

I happen to agree with these two teams very much. I follow Wisconsin recruiting and they never get the real good recruiting classes yet they always seem to be a big ten contender.

I would add Northwestern to the most with least lists.

Least with most looks like it's been covered pretty well.

Nebraska could afford to buy any coach on he face of the planet........a lot of people don't know that we literally have endless amounts of donations at our disposal.

Nebraska could buy out any coach and build a stadium that towers over anything in the U.S. We don't. I don't know the exact reason why but I imagine it is because we have actual self confidence and self respect unlike Alabama, Texas A&M and Tennessee.

LOL AHAHA Oh the fucking lols. Yall are awesome

Why no love for Iowa? I understand Wisconsin and Michigan State.

But what team has done more with 2-3 star recruits than Iowa?

Okay, I am more sold on Boise State now, but I am not that sold on TCU. TCU was one of the top mid-major recruiting classes and above many major conference teams quite often.

Boise State

2002 Recruiting Class - 74th (13th among mid majors)
2003 Recruiting Class - 100th (30th among mid majors)
2004 Recruiting Class - 99th (15th among mid majors)
2005 Recruiting Class - 64th (5th among mid majors)
2006 Recruiting Class - 70th (9th among mid majors)
2007 Recruiting Class - 68th (6th among mid majors)
2008 Recruiting Class - 89th (24th among mid majors)
2009 Recruiting Class - 72nd (12th among mid majors)

Out of mid majors

Most with the Least - Boise State

Least with the Most - UAB or Southern Miss

UAB and Southern Miss were often top 5 recruiting classes for mid majors.

I had this really long post typed out with data to prove my points but SportsHoopla ate it apparently...

Anyway, Miami and Tennessee have done the least with the most and it isn't even close. Boise St has done the most with the least and it's really not all that close. All this is for the 2002-2010 classes. Still early to judge the 2011 and on classes and data sucks for recruiting prior to 2002.

Throughout history I think it's Georgia at the top of the list. They're always talked about and thought of as one of the big boys, located in a recruiting hotbed with one other small FBS school, great fan support, and have next to nothing to show for it(one NC in 1981?). UCLA (whose been mentioned in this thread) can at least claim they're a basketball school and they don't have any fan support...

It can be very close either way you look at it. BSU's competition is not the same as a major conference team. The schedule were mostly made up by teams that were consistently worse than in recruiting class and final rankings 50th where a major conference team faced teams. Major conference teams had schedules mostly made up by teams that were in the top 50 in final rankings and recruiting class.

Notre Dame had a few good years for final rankings but not in the recruiting class. Not making top 10 in recruiting is a terrible year for them when making top 30 is an incredible year for Iowa. I expect ND to do much better than what they have.

But I did do a post that did show BSU did not have a good recruiting class among mid majors, so I did gain a lot of respect for them, but I still am going to homer it and still go with Iowa.

I also will give credit to Navy and Air Force. They had some pretty good teams and they don't recruit the same.

Yeah, Wisconsin never has any top ranked classes. Same for Michigan State, they've never had a top 25 recruiting class, but have managed to win 11+ games 3 times in 5 years.

Why no love for Iowa? I understand Wisconsin and Michigan State.

But what team has done more with 2-3 star recruits than Iowa?

That's true, Iowa is another team that you could throw in there with doing the most with least.

Most with least - Kansas State, Stanford, Michigan State, Cincy, Boise, Baylor, TCU

Least with most - Texas, Notre Dame, Miami, Michigan

This is a hard list to disagree with.
