I did not know you get get an ineligible downfield on a punt... also...ok to hit the punter on a punt in a situation like that? I think the 2nd guy did hit him after the punt.

Article 2 During a kick from scrimmage, only the end men (eligible receivers) on the line of scrimmage at the time of the snap, or an eligible receiver who is aligned or in motion behind the line and is more than one yard outside the end man, are permitted to advance more than one yard beyond the line before the ball is kicked.

And due to the punter not getting a good grip on the ball, all our guys had taken off. Don't know why our punter did not get called for the hit unless once he leaves the protected zone (as he started running) then maybe that's why?
