J.J. McCarthy is now a Viking, and they kept the 23rd pick in the process. I can't believe it, but they played that draft beautifully. Hopefully this dude can work out.

aggressive move to move up 1st to get defensive player, next year we've already traded our 2,3,4th round picks. I know we're expecting some comp picks next year, but...

Maybe quality over quantity is a better way to go? And if they suck, their first round pick is worth a few more.

if JJ flops, Both Kwesi and KOC will be gone


But I really like the JJ pick and excited for next year. My excitement for next season has increased.

I suppose they kinda have to look to undrafted free agents when they put 90% of their draft capital into their first two picks

Not that I'm complaining, either. The whope "draft 100 lower picks per draft" Spielman strategy never worked out for us

Well guys, it looks like it's probably a wrap on this site for me.

They took my thread making abilities away. I got railroaded because some clown got asssshurt about some joke threads I made about the Superbowl earlier in the year on the main NFL board. Just now realized I can't make any threads anywhere, and it doesn't appear as if the mods/forum admin are willing to work with me on it.

So that being said, I doubt I'll ever be here much if at all anymore, even during the NFL season. This site is already dead an uninspiring enough as it is, so if I'm going to be treated that way for daring to try breathing some life into the place, then I'm out. It was a fun ride while it lasted, even though virtually all of that fun for me ended years ago.

@fknhippie , @PnkPanther , @MTVike . It's been real guys, and I wish you the all the best in life going forward. Peace the fuk out!

I actually liked this draft! Not sure i'm a big McCarthy fan but they had to get a QB and they did it without giving up much, so that's a win! I love the Turner pick, he was the first defensive player taken in a lot of mocks I seen. Win!

I think they need to fight the urge to put McCarthy in this season, ride it out with Darnold, if we go 5-12 ok, that means we have a top 5 pick next year and $100M in cap space and McCarthy will have had a year to sit and learn, I am ok with that! Rushing him could ruin him, we can't have that.

I agree, no need to rush JJ. I actually expect him to start season on bench, but wouldn't be surprised if he takes over, I just hope they don't rush it

If Darnold struggles the fanbase is going to start calling for it though.

With our schedule we could easily start 1 - 5 or 2 - 4. Throwing McCarthy in there doesn't all of a sudden make us a Super Bowl contender, if it did why wouldn't McCarthy start the season as the starter. We need to be patient in my opinion, if they can somehow talk Flores into staying for a 3rd year and JJ takes the steps needed to plug him in day 1 as a starter in 2025, then we have a chance to be one of the best teams in the league with all the money we will have to spend.
