And how do you guys feel about Bridgewater? Are you sold on him being your franchise QB?

I love the fact that he stays cool under pressure. I think he had a 78% completion rate when under pressure.
He seemed to make progress every week, can't wait to see him in his second year.

I have a feeling this is going to get ugly. I hope not, of course, but AP is saying all the wrong things.

Vikings traded Matt Cassel after meeting with AP, clearing cap space. From appearances, it looks like AP is staying put.

I doubt one thing had much to do with the other.

Vike's didn't need Cassel anymore...and certainly not at the price we were paying him. Really was as simple as that. $4.5M (what Cassel was due) is a little much to pay a guy that you hope never sees the field.

The Peterson meeting gives me a little hope but to me it still sounds as if there are some things happening behind the scenes.

This is TOTAL speculation but my guess is that Peterson gave Spielman and Zimmer a "I'll come back if <blank>" statement. And IMO that blank is if the people who actively worked to keep Peterson off the field (Kevin Warren) either apologizes or gets fired and it's now up to the Vike's to figure out if they want to give in to Peterson's demands.

This is what I believe is the problem as well, but seeing as they just promoted Warren I can't see them getting rid of him.
It is funny how Warren changed his opinion on AP as soon as he got the job..lol
I think it comes down to AP realizing that this is the only team that is going to pay him his contract amount, and he wants the money first and foremost..

Hmmmm... rumor has it, a restructured 5 year deal with $30MM guaranteed in first 2 years. That's what it sounds like it will take.

Peterson met with the Wilfs last night. We'll know soon enough. I hope they don't give him more money - simply because he doesn't deserve it.

Nothing but cap space... might as well fill it!

:suds:
He's a quality starter. Nothing exceptional but he gets the job done. He & Willie Gay were our best CBs last season. I was hoping he would stick around for cheap again.

Yeah, he may have created an artificial market for himself with his play last year. Someone will overpay for his 1 year of play.
