Love it, anyone thst won’t acknowoedge that it’s tome honored tradition to claim bullshit titles in that part of the country simply has no credibility. Funniest part of this is that they are going all in and are paying championship bonuses to coaches that are leaving.

Hasn't been a tradition in 20 years.

Preseason rankings are garbage, Florida State ended up 7-6...come on man you can do better.

Who did Memphis or USF beat that was better than FSU?

under Resume, where it says "strength of record"

That's not strength of schedule. That's more of a "strength of resume" which is more like a final ranking in which they only finish 6th. It's a ranking of the teams they've beat and who they've lost to.

#6 is actually kind of bad if you are talking about being NC worthy.

Alabama is #2 in that, Georgia is #1.

Make no mistake, UCF is not the national champions. Monday’s winner is. That’s the system and UCF has, in theory, access to said system (it certainly cashes the checks the system generates for all programs). That access is not as streamlined and as simple as it is for schools in the five major conferences, but if the Knights had played a stronger non-conference schedule, they could have, as unbeaten champs of the American Athletic Conference, gotten a bid to the playoff. It’s not impossible.

Everyone knows the reason Auburn didn't look as well against Georgia the 2nd time or for UCF is because you were broke after paying out for the Alabama win.

UCF living rent free under the skin of Bama and fans right now.

Nah, this isn't even about UCF. Thank you UCF for kicking the shit out of Auburn - congrats on your year and I hope you have similar success next year. I hope the spotlight opens up doors for your program.

This is all about the fans of other teams and UCF is the only thing they've got left to sling.

Everyone also knows that re-matches tend to favor the first time loser of a game to look better in the re-match. This is because the team that lost the first time has film to see how they got beat and make adjustments in game planning.
The first time winner has film to see how they won, so are likely to do what they did successful the 2nd time.

Auburn beat Georgia 40-17 in the first game.
Georgia beat them 28-7 in the re-match.

UCF beat Memphis 40-13 in the first game.
UCF beat Memphis 62-55 in the re-match.

The re-match favors the better team, just like all games favor the better team.

It's not real, it's not acknowledged by the NCAA but it's the way things have traditionally been done. I don't see what the issue is and I definitely don't understand why the SEC fans are so bothered by it. Both teams competing for the National Championship both claim National Champions that aren't real or acknowledged by the NCAA. And, lucky for them they get to enjoy this year, it's not a retroactive championship they just awarded themselves.

How many titles did Auburn retroactively claim in 2014?

First: Fuck you for making me defend Auburn.

It wasn't actually Auburn who did that, it was some dumbass Auburn fan in the Alabama senate. It was voted down.

Now, piss off for making me tear apart one of the things I like to tease Auburn fans about.

Guess I should've went with the Texas AM example when they retroactively claimed two national championships in 2012.

They added some pre-poll era ones. Trying to pretend it's the same thing is a hell of a stretch.

If UCF disagrees with the playoff system so much - they should send back the millions of dollars it's being paid by it every year.

If UCF won the NC, then these guys are the best in the world at something.

I just don't see this is an issue.

UCF recognizes themselves as National Champions.
UGA recognizes themselves as 1942 National Champions.
Alabama recognizes themselves as 1941 National Champions.

UCF was recognized by the Orlando Sentinal, a local newspaper.
UGA and Alabama were arguably recognized by a statisticians poll.

The NCAA doesn't recognize any them as National Champions.
