It's one of the silliest sport's thread I've ever encountered.

While I acknowledge the programs aren't twins, it's like having a pair beautiful twins coming up to a guy in a bar and them saying, "We want to have sex with you, but you can only have sex with one of us. Which of us do you want?" The correct answer is you pick one, it doesn't matter which one you pick.

BUT DOES THE OTHER TWIN HAVE STATE TAXES???

Clearly, it's been awhile since you've been there.

Do you disagree that USC has a fair weather fan base?

I'd rather coach at USC with or without fans. I think it's the more prestigious program. But I don't think it's a secret that the fan base isn't exactly a loyal one.

Now that I think about it, I'll give the Texas job another advantage over USC: At Texas, you have a very loyal alumni/student/fan base, and your home games will be attended by over 100K +, not to mention, DKR stadium will hold 115K once everything is said and done. At USC, if you don't win, you're playing home games in front of 45K if you're lucky.

So what you're saying is that Texas fans will spend their hard earned money to watch crap!!

Both jobs will pay enough that it's doesn't really matter.

Of course, this comes from me and I'm different. In '99, I quit a $44/hour job in Austin, decided to live in a now 60+ yo rock cabin by a lake in OK and not work for money.

Yes and no on a fair weather fanbase. Every successful team picks up it's share of fair weather fans. Many USC fans won't show up if the team is crappy, but it's mainly to send a message to USC administration that they're not going to spend money on crap.

When money (or lack of it) talks, people listen and take action. A big part of the reason that Lane Kiffin was fired after 5 games was because people weren't showing up to watch a team play beneath it's talent level.

Example: My son and I typically attend 2 or 3 USC games per season. We get good tickets and spend a fair amount of money while on campus and at the game. We only attended 1 in each of the past 2 seasons because I wasn't going to spend that kind of money to watch a team play uninspired football.

I still watched every second of every game at home, I just wasn't willing to spend that money. Had I known that we were going to fire Kiffin after 5 games and the team was going to respond to Coach O like they did, we would have gone to a couple more, but it was too late for this year.

USC is an easier job, Texas has an actual rival.

I think this is the 2nd time I've seen something like this.

Is Notre Dame v USC not one of the biggest rivalries in college sports? Lol come on

Our meth infused neighbors to the north aren't always the sharpest tools in the shed...

They don't really compete with Notre Dame geographically for recruits or conference wins...and ND has been average for a long time.

Lol

ND and USC recruit on a national level better than any other team. And Notre Dame does a lot of recruiting in California. Which is why we end every season in either Southern Cal, or Palo Alto.

See there, you're pimping a team that isn't in your conference.

Lol! Well timed OU shot there.

I'll take the credit for the assist.
