back up pan; if we dont sign gore why not pick up Bush. he would be a nice combo with hyde

I would be down to add Bush but the big question is what is he worth? Adding him would help us open up the playbook more. We could us him on screens and throw more passes to him coming out of the backfield. Those are two things we dont do a lot of.

I can't imagine he would demand a lot. Maybe 3.5 a year. We are willing to pay gore 4 million a year so I can't see a problem if this happen. Don't get me wrong I want gore back but I wouldn't mind a Hyde, Bush and Hunter trio. Then draft a RB in Rds 5-7 to sit a year.

Bush is done done done. Better to keep Gore.

Yes I want gore but Im talking about this as a back up plan. Hyde is the starter anyways. Bush is a nice change of pace back.

Did Gore have a fall off of production last season? The 9ers don't need a FA RB period. They will pick one up in the draft. If Gore stays he will still produce IMO but maybe with less carries as Hyde gets better at the postion. Hunter is still a question mark for health ,is he not?

Who would you guys rather resign Perrish Cox or Chris Culliver? Both played good last year but Culliver is 2 years younger than Cox. Culliver made 1.58 million last year to Cox's 695K but I would imagine both are looking for around 2 million a year. Chris also has had off the field issues which has me leaning toward Cox. I would like to hear what everyone else thinks.

Cox just because he will be cheaper and isn't as injury prone. I am not a fan of Cully

yeah, there are differences and hence the different costs. While I would prefer we re-sign Culliver, will say we end up with Cox.

BTW - I've always felt Culliver played well for the most part. Clearly he had a bad game in the SB, but that shouldn't over ride ALL his other games?

A lot of guys are getting cut. I think 49ers will replace who they need to replace. If Smith retires their are some options. Should be a very interesting Free Agency.

49ers are visiting with Dockett tonight. I hope this happens. Would be a good get for the 49ers. Add some nice Depth at DL and will battle tank for one of the DE positions and if Smith retires and would step right in. Yes he coming off an Injury but landing him would be nice for this team. Also nice to grab someone who played in the Division.

I think the problem was the Harbaugh/Roman offense more than the RBs. The 49ers never committed to running screens.

We are looking at Spiller.

I actually wanted to draft Spiller when he was coming out of college. He made 5.9 million last season and he is coming off an injury. Gore is asking for 4 million on a 1 year deal. I think we should say bye to Gore and bring in Spiller for 4 million a season. Also Cards offered Dockett 2.5 million but it could be up to 4 million with incentives. Let's say 49ers already know if Justin is coming back or not. If Smith does retire that saves the team 4 million which we could use to sign Dockett. Just give him 4 million without having to hit his incentives.
