Well guys, first I want say how valuable you guys are and how much I appreciate and respect all of you. You're opinions and input are a great thing to have at one's disposal and I ever so grateful for all your help.

When this was presented to me I got excited but just could not pull the trigger. After hearing everyones input and and taking a tally I seen the majority was on the rg3 side and even thought a few guys (who I value their opinions very much so) where opposing I decided my gut feeling was confirmed.

So I just excepted the deal. I took rg3 and gronk. Thanks ALL

*ran to get sharpie. . Blacked out RGIII and Gronk on any and all cheat sheets*

sorry Fman - had wiffle ball tournament yesterday. Was too busy smashing HRs, did't sign on.

The deals done, and I don't think you made a bad decision at all, but as was mentioned by others - you gave up the best overall player in that deal. Whenever that is the case, I always try to get the other owner to toss me a draft pick. Never know what they'd be willing to toss in to land Rodgers in a keeper league.
If someone else mentioned that, sorry again!

Andy Dalton is 3rd all time, for TDs thrown by a QB in their first three years! A.J. Green being there helped, but he was a rookie in that first year too! Imagine what Gruden can do with 3rd year RG3, with more weapons around him?

Ya done well Foot.

And let's not forget, this probably wasn't your last trade. Should you feel uneasy about Gronk in season, or after his upcoming monster of a season, I'm sure there will be takers.

Sorry I wasn't able to get to this sooner but it's been a hectic week.

I too share my opinion knowing you've already pulled the trigger but here it is none the less. For me it breaks down like this, If it were straight up Rodgers for RG3 I'd do it because while Aaron is a great talent who will undoubtedly give you top tier production for the foreseeable future(baring injury), RG3 is younger and I believe will work through his issues from last season to become the great QB most believe him to be. Adding Matthews & Gronk to the equation muddies the waters for me. I believe Gronk has all the earmarks of a player who could be injury prone the remainder of his career and Matthews, although an unproven commodity, has undeniable talent and is in an offensive system that could result in big numbers for him down the road. With a crystal ball showing a healthy Gronk for at least the next few years I'd take that deal but being that I just don't have anything to go on other than his most recent injuries and my gut feeling there are more health issues down the road I'd opt to keep Rodgers & Matthews. Just my 2 cents. Hope this deal works out in your favor.

Interesting point of view Zep. So you are saying if you had Rodgers you would trade him for RG3 strait up. And on the flip side you are saying you would rather have Mathews over Gronk. You make great points for both and I'll say this. I really like your rg3 point of view.

Thanks for the out of the box input, always appreciated!

I did the deal because I have ALWAYS been a huge TE guy. One year when gates was the best in the league I trade Ladanian for him strait up. People thought I was crazy but the move gave me a huge advantage and a title. I still believe firmly that even in this day and age a TE that can score you a lot of points is the most important piece of a successful fantasy team. I agree thet Gronk's past injury history scares me but when he is healthy he may be the best if not the second best in the league and now I own him. I couldn't be happier about that. Plus I have Eric Ebron who I am very high on encase of emergency so it worries me a little less about acquiring the Gronk.

On the flip side I have never been a huge QB guy and RG3 has intrigued me as some may know how much I am like Al Davis when it comes to loving the speed guys. Well I just got the fastest QB in the league and I couldn't be happier about that.

I'm posting this here because the powers that be (pretty certain it was Hammer) have partially banned my account for no legitimate reasons I can come up with other than the fact that I asked a question they didn't like about a member they recently permanently banned. I am also going to post this in the Niner forum which is the main board I and the other now former member called home. Since I'm certain that one MOD or another, if not Hammer himself, will see this I ask that it be brought to his attention as I do not currently have the ability to PM or create a new thread on any of the boards here. Both options I'd preferred to have used to communicate with you, Hammer. I ask that you take the time to read through this in it's entirety as I believe I deserve that much as a member of this forum.

I've been a member here since the mass exodus from the ESPN forums in the summer of 2011. I may not post here as much as a lot of others do but when I have it has ALWAYS been in a respectful way and has ALWAYS been free of any obscenities, mocking/bullying of other members, or anything a reasonable person would deem inappropriate. If you take the time to review my past posts here you will find they bar this out.

Two days ago the former member I mentioned made a post on the Yahoo FFB league message board we are both members of that he had been permanently banned. I posted the same question there that I did on the Niner board here. Why was he banned? The result of me asking that pretty innocuous question was as follows:

Me: Clyde banned again?

Anyone know anything about this? I thought it said "banned" on a persons profile when they are currently banned. I do not see that on his profile nor do i see any recent posts that strike me as even close to being worthy of a ban. His posts on the politics board are pretty passionate but still not what I'd deem worthy of a ban.

Anyone have any insight on this?

HammerDown: Clyde made another "SportsHoopla is pathetic" thread, which we quickly deleted. He's made it painfully clear that he hates SportsHoopla and it's time for him to move on.

The season is almost here and we hope you'll all be with us but if anyone is more interested in talking about Clyde, this probably isn't the place for them. Please don't start any more threads about this.

SFNL: We have definitely seen some self destructions in the past on some of our more popular boards that have led to better leadership and camaraderie... This is precisely where you guys are now. It's up to you to own the situation.

I am 1z: mods

Just so you know, the majority of us have each other's emails from when we moved from ESPN to this poster friendly haven. Many are disgruntled with how mods have been handling the 49er forum. We've been in constant communication with one another and we're hoping we don't have to leave the board.

This board should remain near untouchable. Minus the safe-for-work display pictures, we can handle the rest of the business on this board. If our kind is found misbaving on another board, it should be reported to our hand picked mod(s). You censor rival forum links, lock threads that are a threat to ad revenue, ban our regs without warning, and then there are those shameful periods the admin is begging for people to disable ad block for SportsHoopla -- unless the grip of control on our board is lightened, there might be a new place for us to go before the season starts.

HammerDown: We understand. Just please leave quietly.

It should be pointed out that this thread was then closed to suppress any further discussion about this matter. If nothing else in this message troubles any of you who take the time to read this, this certainly should.

Now I certainly understand that this is your forum Hammer and it's yours to do with as you see fit but if it comes down to my no longer being welcome here for no good reason then I will make sure I have the opportunity to state my case which is what I'm doing now.

I have been a MOD at several other forums in the past and during that time I learned a few things about how to be a good MOD and avoid being the kind that drives away members. You have to have thick skin, draw reasonable lines in the sand when it comes to dishing out penalties, and most certainly you can't ding people for simply having opinions that differ from your own. Banning a member from being able to start threads or access access their profile and use the PM system when it's unwarranted are examples of the kinds of things good MODS most certainly do not do. It's the kind of thing heavy handed MODS do.

Lastly, as a good/fair moderator you have to be willing to field questions from your members about forum issues without penalizing them for asking said questions. Not being willing to do so will only damage the reputation of the forum and likely lead to the loss of otherwise good members such as myself.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, I look forward to your response Hammer.

I hope it's clear to you that my posting this in both the Niner & FFB forums is due to my desire to have this seen by you and because I have been barred from communicating with you in any other way. So I ask you not ding with a claim of spamming which is not my intent.

Someone once told me: If both sides feel they gain something, then that is the definition of a fair deal.
