Feels like there was a gap there after Bonds and Williams. Lots of arguments for lots of players.

Hornsby probably had the best prime of the players left relative to his era. Gehrig I think checks the most boxes. Cobb is probably the pick if you're just looking at WAR/WAR7 combined. Aaron certainly has longevity in terms of being good to really good.

I agree about the gap. It seems like there are about 10 different names that could easily go next. Pretty much about personal preference at that point. That said, I voted for Mickey.

One of the top 2B in the history of the game.

I don’t expect him to get much (any) traction, but as I have said numerous times, I am trying to rotate fringe guys at the bottom of the poll each time to incite discussion.

I am not certain where my votes will lie in this one yet. I am leaning Hornsby and Cobb, but I am not certain who gets my 3rd nom. Aaron? Henderson? Robinson? Schmidt? Bench?

Gehrig had the durability (until he didn’t, obviously), but 1B is a tough spot for me to vote this high. Musial doesn’t belong here YET, imho. Still too early for a pitcher. Only 2 SSs belong in the discussion, but I am hesitant to give in on ARod, and Ripken just doesn’t belong this high.

I really hate this list. Was hoping we would do better than other top 10 rankings. I guess there is a reason they all suck.

I put my three picks in for Mickey, Ohtani and Schmidt.

Mickey and Ohtani are there for similar reasons as they had the best dominant seasons of all players left.

Schmidt is my third for similar reasons to Willie Mays.

One of the best defensive players of all time at his position and also one of the best hitters at his position

It’s actually sad how players who played between expansion generation and steroid generation do not get any respect.

If you really think about it, that’s the peak of American baseball.

You can nominate 3 players at this stage…

I think Robinson and Henderson are the perfect examples of this. These two guys are GOAT level, but rarely get mentioned in that class. I am seriously considering going with Rickey as my 3rd nom.

The only way this will work for you is if your opinion is the only opinion that is counted. And that isn’t how polls work. I don’t agree with all the results to this point, but I am not upset at any of them. The final results, thus far, are VERY defensible by just about any metric.

I agree bonds cheated and he still get voted in
The more you say it, the more chance it may become true.

Funny that you hate players who used drugs to improve their play, but vote for players who used drugs to improve their play instead.
