12 and 6 and a below average PER of 12.84 is your rookie of the year? Kool-aid. Russell had 15/5/4 and a PER of 15.36. Randle averaged 13 and 9 with a PER of 16.32. They have played longer in the NBA, but Saric isn't exactly a rookie professionally either.

Watch bro. Its either Saric our Embiid. I guess you dont follow the NBA closely but him and Embiid are coming 1 and 2 in ROY voting. Want to bet on it?

Hope not. We have a young and talented team with no maturity. Don't want a 31 year old even if he'd make them better.

You need veterans though. A team full of kids is going to struggle for consistency. Lowry is very solid at both ends of the floor.

Embiid I agree with. Brogdon is in that mix as well. Pretty underwhelming rookie class with only Embiid's carry-over rookie season being all that impressive. The only argument against him is the short season.

That I agree with. Even if Simmons turns out to be a star they have no veteran leadership. But there isn't a GM in the league that would rather be in the Lakers shoes over the Sixers. The Lakers outclass Philly in attracting FA, thats for sure.

Must be why I keep reading that PG wants to be a Sixer.....oh, wait.

I don't bet, but I would guess Brogdon gets #2 behind Embiid.

To be fair, Magic was infatuated with Michael Carter-Williams at one point too. I hope his input into this year's pick is balanced with the GM, assistant GMs and scouts.

Yeah, but theres a big difference between the two. MCW wasnt seen as a top 5 pick. Simmons is a one in every 5 to 10 years prospect. I could link a hundred articles with people comparing him to Lebron.

That's all well and good. I was just pointing out that using Magic doesn't really strengthen your argument.

Its possible... Saric struggled early but was tremendous the 2nd half of last year. He could be a 20/10 guy. The Sixers are loaded on potential... lets all sit back and watch how they screw it up and thats another advantage LA has. If they were in Phillys position they'd turn it into a juggernaut. Philly, not so much.

You also traded the best player on your team and your team went on a tankapalooza fest after that trade.

You Laker fans were predicting 35 wins this year as well.

Obviously if the Lakers get PG that would change things but I just don't see what you guys could trade except the #2 to get him.

If the Lakers weren't in range to keep their pick (and they started the season very strong), they wouldn't have benched all veterans down the stretch and may not have traded away their top scorer. The lure of keeping that pick changed how the team was managed in the second half of the season.

Lowry is from Philly... thats the attraction. He is good and would make them better but I still dont want a 31 year old guy with all this youth. If he was 25 I'd be all in.

I have to agree with that.

I'm from Philly and HATE the Lakers. But if I was an NBA star Im going to LA all day long over Philly. Hopefully Simmons is what he is expected to be and future star FA see them as a contender in 2 or 3 years.

He has all but cone these going to the Lakers.

I'll pack his shit...lol

He's gonna be unrestricted.

Just sign him....please.
Jim Buss is gone Mecca - the Lakers are no longer being managed by a moron so you can wave good bye to that kind of stupidity on the Lakers part. At Least I hope Johnson is smart enough to not do that:hope::hope::hope:
