I actually think the Cavs have formed a very attractive coaching duo for LeBron.

Blatt is a coach that actually runs an offensive system. That's something LeBron has never really had and something the Spurs just demonstrated to him as an important thing. Blatt's been running the Princeton offense since he played at Princeton and has won league championships using it with a variety of talent levels.

Lue is very different. A former player who is well liked around the league and good friends with LeBron. He, unlike Blatt, has NBA coaching experience and will help Blatt with things specific to the NBA

Yep I wanted blatt really badly on Kerrs staff

James of course. Utah turned Karl Malone into a roll guy and it worked out pretty well for him. And it's not like they're going to run it every play.

Karl Malone was a great player, but was nowhere near dynamic as LeBron. He was a true 4. It is one thing for LeBron to post up, quite another to turn him into a ball screener. You are suggesting that you turn one of the most dynamic playmakers in league history into a catch and finish guy? He might pop, but he is not a pick and roll guy.

The other thing, is that in order for pick and roll to work, you need shooters to space the floor. Who on the Cavs roster can do that aside from the two players you have in the pick and roll? It is pretty easy to both stop the ball and the roll guy if you are not worried about any shooters in the corners.

Bosh and Wade expected to opt out and sign cap friendly contracts...per Ira Winderman ( Sunsentinel Heat beat writer)

If that's true that's a VERY good sign for the Heat.

I can't imagine Wade or Bosh opting out and signing for less without knowledge that LeBron is coming back. If LeBron leaves... they might as well get the most money they can by opting in.

Aslo... I wonder if the Heat would/could do some shady thing where they tell Wade and Bosh... "Opt out and we'll sign you for slightly less but give you more years"

Then when they actually opt out.. "Nevermind... we're going to go in a different direction... unless you want to play for 10 million"

I don't know how the opt-out-to-resign usually works. Maybe they have a written agreement in place before opting out to protect themselves from something like that?

Why is this the best thing he can do?

Didn't Lerner pretty much blasted him on the way out?...who really knows what LBJ is going to do, but imo the best thing for him would be if LBJ/Wade/Bosh opted out and came back at lower prices and fit Melo in there. That would all but ensure another trip to the finals

That would force Melo to take the same amount wouldnt it? No way he is going for 22 million when the rest take less. The four in Miami should be James at 22, Melo at 20, Bosh at 14 and Wade at 10. This equal pay while LeBron carries the team is not right.

I would love to see Wade opt out, only to have LeBron block him from resigning

That's just it, there's no way that's true... especially for Wade who's barely worth the league min. these days. Wade needs to do nothing and get as much as he can. Had james not opted out, Bosh should have.. he needs a fresh start somewhere w/out lebron.

Why not trade Kyrie for Love and keep the #1?
Huge financial plus for Cavs.

As far as Kyrie.
He has never been able to stay healthy.
He's a below avg defender.
He does have big offensive games on occasion, but a lot of times he has huge 4 th qtrs and the points meaningless because they were so far behind.

I'm not saying he isn't a very talented player..
I'm just saying that exploring trade options heading into a max situation is a good idea.

He has so much upside, I couldn't live with the decision to trade him. He could be great, like legit great. Just needs maturity and experience.

Agreed. This team is young, but talented. In a year or two we might be able to see what he is capable of with a decent supporting cast.

I would love to see Lebron in Chicago with Noah...

This would be a great pair and LBJ never played with a Big like Noah who loves to pass the ball plus plays great D.

To be honest going back to Miami is the worse thing for LBJ. Only positive is more money. I don't think he wins another one with that core. Time has past for Wade and Bosh. Bosh is a good #3 but that is about it. Wade is more like a 6th man now.

Except the other two are opting out and they will add players. I hope he strings the Bulls and Cavs along for a bit though... Was funny as hell the first time ( actually just when he did it to the bulls.)

How can anyone say "He doesnt win another one in Miami"? This is the first time Riley is going to have $$ to spend and get the talent around him. Look what Riley did with a bunch of veterans taking nothing and quite a few scrubs.. now he has $$. He has LBJ and Bosh still in their prime. Yes, Wade is older and not as good. he just needs to change his style of game is all. Bosh could be WAY better if they used him right and played him at the 4. Now that Miami has the $$ they can get a true Big man and use Bosh the right way. They can get solid bench players and real good starting PG.. Miami will end up in the Finals again this coming season.

Plus, chances are they resign James Jones and Ray Allen..So we will still have our 3pt shooters. Pick up a guy like Ariza, Jordan Hill and get a PG and we are right back in it.

People talking out of their ass are the ones saying that Miami will be worse without seeing what they do in free agency.

This line alone cracks me the fuck up. Having two other superstars on the team doesn't count? What about the other great supporting group of players? He had a great supporting cast who for some reason or another weren't involved.

Why weren't they involved? Oh that's right they were overmatched.

Other then the Big 3, the supporting cast was made up of guys taking vet min or on an exemption. Yes, guys like Allen and Birdman did their jobs and did them well, but Riley now has the $$ to get younger supporting cast. To upgrade at the positions that we have been weak at since LBJ came here. PG and C. It should be interesting. I dont know what the contracts are going to be, but im going to guess that between the Big 3 if they all opt out, it should give Miami around $20 million to spend.
